Boker Master Razor straight razor Blade: Astra SP (1) Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair Soap: Sterling - Frozen Tundra After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave Cologne: Cuir Cannage An almost BBS shave on this cool wet morning. The Vie Long whipped up the Frozen Tundra to a wonderful lather that brought some chill to the shave. The R41 and the Boker had no trouble with the stubble. The Osage Rub kept the freezing feeling going and the Cuir Cannage will have me smelling great all day. Have a blessed day!
It was time for Ray's of Colorado Bay Rum soap in today's rotation. This soap is far from idiot-proof, but when the moon and the stars align, so to speak, I get some of my best shaves from it. Today was one of those days. EJ DE87 razor, Astra SP blade, Vulfix 1000A brush. Post-shave was witch hazel and Afta aftershave. I used Afta exclusively before my wet-shaving days. Now I just match it to the Ray's soap because they seem to go together well.

I am still using the TOBS Rose because I am crazy about the scent. Today I mixed it with Provence Sante, which is my favorite soap. The only thing I don't like about PS is that it is not at all a long lasting soap. In fact, I am about 1/2 way through the second puck in about 8 months and I have 5 other soaps in my rotation. Menthol Monday hot shower Semogue BC Cerda Proraso PPB TSD 2X Iced Blue Floid Lanolin Soap iKon SC 102 slant,Ikon handle/ASCO red (3) From what I've read ASCO Red,Orange and Blue are the same blade just packaged for different regions.My take is that the Red is not the same as the Orange wrapper.The Orange was a great blade,smooth from the beginning and comfortable.The Red dragged from the start and not very comfy at all.It did the job without irritation or razorburn and I did get BBS on my face and dome,just not a pleasant shave.I'll give the Reds another go just incase it was a bum blade,but I think I'll try to hunt out the Orange wrapper version and maybe the Blue to do a wrapper to wrapper comparison. cold water rinse Monster Block Alum Burn free considering the shave. cold water rinse Tend Skin Stirling Glacial Wintergreen WH mixed with a pea sized amount of 444 Yep I saw the 444 laying there and said why not Cartier Roadster Stay frosty,my friends!

Using up my poor beat up remains of my MWF that I grated into a bowl. Still performs admirably. The Lord blade is a nice surprise really enjoying it. Easily a near BBS shave this Monday morning. Mondays shave Still testing the gillette Rubie blade. We are on day 3 so I decided to switch things up and see if the blade paired better with the super speed than the EJ DE89. It did. A much smoother experience, this blade isn't my favourite, but I have 1 more of these blades and I will be using it.
