Sadly Shopper's is a bit to far north for me. I can pick up the C.O. Bigelow branded Proraso at the local Bath and Body Works.
What are the differences between the colors? I know that the Green one is the original one but I'm confused on the differences between the white, red and blue versions.
It's the scents. Green is menthol, Red is sandalwood, White is oatmeal and tea, Blue is really nice, kind of a classic Italian barbershop scent. Green adn Red come as both a cream in a tube and a soap in a tub. Blue is only a cream in a tube, white is only a soap in a tub.
OP, I can't begin to tell you how lucky you are to be able to simply "go to the store and pick up a tub of Proraso"
Proraso Green was the first shave soap I tried. After sampling a great many others it still ranks up with my favourites.
It's the only place that sells wet shaving products in my Canadian town and green and white are the only two scents offered. Unfortunately they don't offer the AS.
It is nice to be able to pick up basic supplies in a pinch locally. About 1 1/2 hours drive is a shave equipment supplier. Nice to take a trip now and then to sample directly.
I bought my Proraso in April of 2012. I can now see the bottom of the tub. It was the first shave cream over $10 that I bought. I love it. It pleases me every time I use it. It lathers great, has a wonderfully cooling effect, makes my skin feel good, and rinses clean.
I, too, get mine from Shoppers Drug Mart. Two years ago I cashed in the chain's points card for merchandise. Its a all or nothing deal for cashing in the points, the remainder is lost. I loaded up on the two cups of Proraso they had in stock and a jar of Proraso preshave cream. That stuff is nice. I'm set for a few years now lol.
It is one that will stay in my rotation. After a bad lather day I'll grab the green and all is good again. Being in fl the cool face feel and scent set the day for me
I think that the red lathers better then the green for me but the offer the same protection and glide. The white works about the same as the green. I got mine as a 3 pack from amazon for $26 or so.
I have to disagree. After countless Arko sticks I still get a better performance from Proraso. But, like Mr.Shaverman said "YMMV".
After seeing all these comments giving praise to this soap I am definitely going to have to get my hands on it.
