-8 DEGREES. Seriously? It is ridiculously cold outside! There was absolutely nothing enjoyable about our walk this morning. It was a “get it over & done with” kind of a situation. Brrr!

The airiness of the lather is not uncommon when first using the Fat. It takes a little practice to get the proper water balance with the stubborn puck. As you practice with it, you'll know when you've hit the proper balance of air, water & soap as the resulting lather will be quite thick & slick, with that light, clean fragrance. :happy088:

    - Razor: Muhle R41 (2013)
    - Blade: Viking's Sword (2nd turn) - this blade works quite well in the R41
    - Soap: Haslinger Schafmilch
    - Brush: Omega 10049

The shave felt really comfortable so I didn't feel the need to do any post-shave.

    Pre - Corn Huskers
    Soap - Tabac
    Brush - WD Synthetic
    Razor - L3 Slim Adjustable (4)
    Blade - Ladas (3)
    AS - 60's Old Spice
Well it was one of those shaves. Started great with the WD Syn whipping up great lather then went down hill. I am not sure if it was because of technique, shave 3 on the Ladas or the Ladas and Slim don't like each other. The whole shave felt "off". No razor burn per say, but some sting with Alum block and 2 good weepers on my neck. End result was a close shave, very smooth. I will reserve judgement on the Ladas/Slim combination until I can try again when my order arrives. All that aside, still better than carts!

Slowed things down today. Very nice 3 pass shave with no nicks, weepers or irritation. Loved the Bay Rum on a cool rainy morning.

    Prep:
Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Gillette Ranger Tech, Wade & Butcher Bow straight razor
    Blade: Astra SP (3)
    Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
    Soap: Tabac
After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave
    Cologne: Prada EDT

A Darn Fine Shave + on this cold morning. The Tabac was whipped into a great lather by the Vie Long. The Bow and the Ranger did their work with no problem. The Osage Rub brought on the arctic blast and the Prada EDT will have me smelling great all day.

    Have a blessed day!

The J.L. Petree brush was a special edition that Bullgoose Shaving had back couple of years ago and no longer in production. If I remember right he sold them in horsehair, mixed hair, 2 and 3 band badger. I also have the Petree in 2 band and really like it.

Yesterday wasn't a very good day. No energy at all, so no post. I did shave, however. So, on to that:

Yesterday and today I concentrated on stretching at the throat (more precisely: not overstretching). Usually I stick my chin up and pull the skin down at the collarbones. Yesterday and today I refrained from pulling the skin down. That resulted in less irritation. Yeey! Two great shaves.

    Have a nice day, ya'll!

Yesterday's lather, a combination of Provence Sante and AOS Sandalwood, felt so nice that I had to repeat it today. 4 passes for an outstanding shave.
