After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave

An almost BBS shave this morning. The MITA whipped up a little soupy today and brought some good chill. The bow performed admirably. The Feather Pro Light feels mild to me. This blade paired with the Cobra is an efficient combination. The Osage Rub brought the arctic blast and the Aqua H2O will have me smelling good all day.

Haven't used my R41 for ages, I have no idea why I haven't. I haf a fantastic close shave today. It is such an efficient razor. I always get a good a shave when I pair the R41 with a feather blade.

Dug very deep into the drawer this morning and found the Ever-Ready Shovel Head. I haven't used this for a long time so, I'm giving it a spin. This razor is from a local shoe store here in Medford Oregon. Back in the twenties they gave you a free razor if you bought a pair of their shoes. Quite a promotional item for the time!

19 January 2015 Shave

Performance is exceptional, as with all Cold River soaps. The scent is very tropical and I like it, but not as much as some of his others. It smells, to me, like Banana Boat sunscreen. Larry may take that as an insult, but I definitely don't mean it that way.

For those that have tried PAA The Beach, it is not like that. That really smells like the beach (sand, salt water, etc). This smells like a refreshing Pina Colada.

I am always impressed with the post shave face feel every time I use a Cold River soap.

 

Beauty of a razor, I'm jealous! Nice.

 

Mark. I tried a sample of the Obsidian and you're right about the menthol level! Wow! I couldn't shave because of the tears in my eyes!

 

Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Rituals samurai foaming face wash Wakame and bamboo

Soap/cream- Martin de Candre Fugere scent

Brush- Whipped dog 24 mm silvertip

Blade- Astra superior platinum

Post- Cold water rinse, Alum block, Aqua velva ice blue aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive aftershave balm

Just an OK shave today. Basically I learnt today that if you feel that you shouldn't shave then you shouldn't shave. Got a little razorburn but my aftershave lotion and balm makes my face feel good again =) During the shave I noticed that it felt like my prep was lacking a little bit today.

Started a new course today and wanna look and feel sharp, and also I have been having a lot of fun using my Martin de Candre, that's why I shaved. Plus I kissed my girlfriend and gave her irritation all over her face =P my beard is pretty coarse haha.

So I'm learning how much to load my whipped dog with the MdC. Both are new products. Today I loaded a bit much, no worries. The scent of MdC is amazing.

Finished with Aqua Velva Ice Blue. I have been wanting try this aftershave for a loooong time. It has lived up to my expectations and a bit more. It was very nice, a nice burn from the alcohol and a really nice chill from the menthol. This aftershave is definitely here to stay!! Next time I'll either get 2 or the big bottle =D I like the scent but i can't really put my finger on it. I don't really like the dabber, but I have some spray bottles on the way so it's not gonna be a problem for very long.

Awesome shave today after a busy few days off! Got a really awesome lather off the Arko today. Went slow and really focused on my technique. 3 passes with a little touch up around the chin for my first DFS! And pretty much irritation free! First time using Clubman, now I smell like a barbershop.
