Just bought 110 of the supersteels off of the bay for $11 CDN. I already have over 200 Shark Super Chromes that will last me until I'm 6 feet under but my brain is telling me not to buy them but after reading this thread and the record low of prices for these blades my heart told me otherwise and I pulled the trigger on them...I hope they perform just as well as the Sharks if not better.
I had 100 Astra's just arrive then bought 100 Voskhod on this deal. Debating whether to order a few hundred more but can't decide how many years supply to get. LOL If I stock up for ten years but lose the steady hand in year 8 to shave without killing myself have I wasted two years worth? At these prices should I care? Oh the decisions of middle age!
My 200 Swedish steel blades arrived in the post today , took a while to get to the UK but unuta77 always delivers
I am waiting for my ebay shipment to come in, which should occur around the end of this month. I ordered 5 sets of 130 mixed Russian blades for $5.00 each. So, for $25.00 + $15.00 shipping, I got: 100 Sputnik 100 Rapira Swedish Supersteel 100 Rapira Platinum Lux 100 Rapira Super Stainless 100 Voskhod 100 Ladas and 50 mixed blades from the above with the seller deciding which blades to include. That works out to about 6 cents / blade, which is 41% of what I am used to paying. Unfortunately, the seller no longer offers 130 for $5.00, but still does offer 120 blades for $5.00 plus shipping. There are some great deals out there.
It took 16 days from the time I ordered to the time they showed up in my mailbox. Russia to California. Not bad at all.
Which Russian blades give smoothest shave? I know...this is subjective and YMMV, but like reviews on Astras, there is validity in a make's popularity! After all, if most people prefer, say Voskhod, that blade is likely to satisfy more than an unpopular blade, like Derby. So, which Ruskie blades are smoother???
My advice would be to buy a sampler pack and work your way through them and find what blade suits you
Just got them today...took a little less than a month after it was shipped (shipped on Xmas day from Moscow)....that's ok. Can't wait to try them out!
Defnitely YMMV but for me Astra, Voskhod and Rapira PL have set themselves apart. Ladas is a great choice too. I'm going to do some more work with blades in February and try to narrow it down to a choice of 3 or 4. We'll see if it's possible.
Same here, 16 days Moscow to Baton Rouge. Thanks to the member who commented on the Slim knockoff, it's way cool.
Ladas. Swedish SuperSteel. Voskhod. And I'll tell you in a couple of days how the PL are. For the price, you will not go wrong. These Russian blades are excellent. Buy now while the ruble is down.
Sorry, no since I don't have an up-to-date camera that is compatible with modern operating systems. I haven't been able to use it for about 4 years. I don't have a fancy phone, either. It looks like I might have got the last one, so he will probably take down this ad soon. The pictures here are accurate, and, in fact are probably of the very razor I received. It did not come with the instruction papers as shown in his pictures.
I just received my order this morning. 650 blades for $25 + $14.80 shipping = $39.80 That works out to just over 6 cents per blade.
