I dip mine in the toilet immediately after it has been vigorously cleaned with scrubbing bubbles
to remove all the pink and orange slime.

    It's all about logistics.......:p

    Seriously.

I disassemble the razor after each shave, give it a good scrub with my shaving brush
whilst running it under hot water.
I let everything drain on a clean towel while I'm dressing and policing up the bathroom,
and then shake out my brush and put in a stand, wipe my razor dry and re-assemble,
and pat dry the blade. All items are stored out in the open air. I've never noticed any
mold, mildew, pink, orange, or pinkyorange scum or slime on anything.

If I use Arko soap for several weeks straight, sometimes a bit of soap scum can build up on
my razor. If this happens, I give it a good scrub with an old toothbrush while running it
under hot water. This clears the gunk away, and everything looks new again.

I use gun oil when needed on my TTO' and on threads on 2-3 piece after a cleaning , I guess old habits die hard

Agree with you on that ! I don't understand it either. You're using soap aren't you?

If it's good enough for my SIG, it's good enough for my razor.

I give a good rinse and shake dry after each use; wipe all parts dry minus blade. A good wipe when I change the blade and scrubbing bubbles every 2-3 months depending on use.

Doesn't that make the razorr smell bad, when you use it?

One removes the blade and dries the razor to prevent corrosion of the head.

Zamak razors can corrode, and once this happens the head has to be thrown out.

Stainless razors develop "tea stains" that are not harmful but cosmetically look like the razor is rusted.

The blades themselves develop micro-corrosion that blunts the blade and shortens its life. Drying your blades after use is the best way to get the best use out of them.

It's not about hygiene. It's about maintaining your gear.

I've used 'Ballistol' to lube my DE razors--just a squirt up the bottom of the handle on my Fatboy--
It is supposedly safe to use as a disinfectant as well as a gun oil, and haven't had any problems as of yet.
Only drawback: the stuff is a bit spendy--
