Sorry for your loss. Since Darth reached the age of 20 I'm sure he's had a good life! Keep him in your heart (as I'm equally sure you do!).

    Friday Morning Shave
    Razor:
    Gillette Red Tip
    Blade: Sputnik (1)
    Brush: Isana Men Pure Badger
    Soap: Proraso
    AS: Old Spice

First time with Sputnik razor blade. It's a really sharp blade even sharper than perma-sharp and I don't get along with sharp blades. I had some irritation on my neck area and some nicks, too. I must admit that I couldn't make a thick lather with proraso this time, maybe that's why these problems occured this time.

Today I used another of my Brothers Bristles handles. This one is made to fit the Plisson synthetic knot with ferrule. The handle is made of solid aluminum, so it is not as heavy as it looks, but it is heavy. It stands taller than my HIS XL. It's nicely balanced and the knot, of course, is a lather champ. The shave was excellent - B&M Petrichor has the usual optimal performance and a pleasant complex slightly sweet scent.
Der Vorschlaghammer was well behaved as it efficiently decimated my stubble. I finished with B&M Kyovu bay rum and my face feels smooth and comfortable.

Work has been a nightmare lately so this is yesterday's shave.

I compared the RT side by side with the early post-war Super Speed that I own. I figure since they're the closest siblings, so to speak, from across the WWII production pause, they might be similar shavers if not identical. They're not. The RT is not terribly aggressive by any stretch but has more bite than the post-war Super Speeds, including this earliest one. So being out of practice with the RT, I was left with a few nicks the gentler SS never gives me. Still, the RT is the best for me!

    today's shave
hot water wash with dove+ care
    Oscar11/ omega boar
    tiki con tiki
    Fatip Grande
    feather(4)
    Score a/s balm
today's shave was ok. I used the review soap, still trying to identify my thoughts of the tiki soap. three passes with the Grande, I'm very shaved, but not as comfy as normal. that's one mean scraper. finished with score balm, because I thought the scent would match nicely.
hope y'all did as well, or better.

Sorry for your loss. I had a cat who looked a bit like Darth - he was Plato, a philosopher cat, one of the coolest.

That sounds great. I have 21 DE razors, but my DE89 is the only modern one. Maybe I'll have to make it 22! Thanks!

    Pal Injecto-Matic razor
    Personna blade
    Fume SS
    Plisson/L'Ocitanne synthetic brush
    OS/WH/S mix
    Pinaud Clubman A/S

OK shave for a Friday. The Fume SS seemed to irritate my face on the second pass so I didn't do my normal shave. In fact, it seems both Arko & Fume irritate my face somewhat. That's to bad cuz I want to like them

Ahh! Top of the morning to you!
I'm loving these old "Black Beauties" blades. Warning! Due diligence is highly recommended.
Soap: C&S Oxford & Cambridge. wish I could afford the fancy anodized dish but still a top soap
    Brush: New Forest "Tubbie 1"
Razor: my father's old Schick Krona
Blade: NOS Schick Krona "Black Beauty" (1)
    After Shave: Fine American Blend
Usual three passes, no sign of whiskers nor blood

Yesterday's shave reaffirmed my belief that the lack of proper technique will result in a lousy shave even when you have the right razor blade, your lather is great and you are using your favorite razor. I can only assume that my technique was the issue yesterday because virtually everything else was right on target. My lather was good, the blade was good, and I was using my favorite razor. I usually get a single cut about every other month and a weeper about every week or so. Yesterday, I ended up 4 cuts and 3 weepers. The only explanation I can find is that my technique must have been poor.

Today I used the same setup with the exact same blade and ended up nice and smooth without issues. I did limit myself to 2 passes today, so the finish is not excellent, but at least I have no wounds.

    French Soap Mix
    Sputnik Blade
    Slim Adjustable.
