Friday's Nivea Men's Face Wash C.O. Bigelow Shave Cream Jayaruh WC2 Pur-Tech Synthetic Eversharp Schick I-1 NOS Gillette Platinum Plus Injector Blade CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Rose Petal WH Pinaud Lilac Vegetal The C.O. Bigelow Shave Cream face-lathered well with my Jayaruh WC2 Pur-Tech Synthetic Brush. Two passes with my Eversharp Schick I-1 and a NOS Gillette Platinum Plus Injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal Petal WH and then Pinaud Lilac Vegetal after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Have to admit when I first ordered the standard back in July 14, wasn't sure what to expect as I knew it was super light and I tend to go for heavy razors with 3.75 or 4" handles. This lightweight surprised the heck out of me and it is one of the smoothest, most efficient razors I have ever tried. I liked it some much I order a backup but since traded for an Aristocrat but I am looking for another! I would place it in mid aggression range with audio feedback that rivals my iKon Standard Bar and ATT H1 razors but I find it smoother than either of these. I hate to admit that I have 29 DE razors and if I had to pair it down to just five razors, I would have to say my Standard would be one of them I like it that well. My thoughts that a razor had to be on the heavy side to be and efficient razor was crushed by the Standard Razor. Head design, angle, blade gap seem to be the key for this razor and at $38 when I bought it, consider it a steal for that price.
FRIDAY Evening Shave of Tomorrow I'm hoping to get back to the office in the morn after two consecutive sick days (I'm rarely sick!). On top of still being sick this eve, I had to take our 20-year old black cat, Darth, to the vet for his final resting place. It was time. Not too many 20-yr old cats and my sons (ages 28,25 & 22) all grew up with him (yes, the boys named him Darth Vader & his twin brother was Luke).2 Sweet kitty, too. And coming from a dog-guy, that's high praise. You'll be missed, Darth. Tonight's shave was mentholated, echoing the 'burning chill' of the Vicks Vapo-Rub I'm wearing….

Sorry for your loss. Since Darth reached the age of 20 I'm sure he's had a good life! Keep him in your heart (as I'm equally sure you do!).
Friday Morning Shave Razor: Gillette Red Tip Blade: Sputnik (1) Brush: Isana Men Pure Badger Soap: Proraso AS: Old Spice First time with Sputnik razor blade. It's a really sharp blade even sharper than perma-sharp and I don't get along with sharp blades. I had some irritation on my neck area and some nicks, too. I must admit that I couldn't make a thick lather with proraso this time, maybe that's why these problems occured this time.
The Beast Today I used another of my Brothers Bristles handles. This one is made to fit the Plisson synthetic knot with ferrule. The handle is made of solid aluminum, so it is not as heavy as it looks, but it is heavy. It stands taller than my HIS XL. It's nicely balanced and the knot, of course, is a lather champ. The shave was excellent - B&M Petrichor has the usual optimal performance and a pleasant complex slightly sweet scent. Der Vorschlaghammer was well behaved as it efficiently decimated my stubble. I finished with B&M Kyovu bay rum and my face feels smooth and comfortable.
Work has been a nightmare lately so this is yesterday's shave. '41 Ranger Tech early '60s Gillette Stainless VDH I compared the RT side by side with the early post-war Super Speed that I own. I figure since they're the closest siblings, so to speak, from across the WWII production pause, they might be similar shavers if not identical. They're not. The RT is not terribly aggressive by any stretch but has more bite than the post-war Super Speeds, including this earliest one. So being out of practice with the RT, I was left with a few nicks the gentler SS never gives me. Still, the RT is the best for me!
today's shave hot water wash with dove+ care Oscar11/ omega boar tiki con tiki Fatip Grande feather(4) Score a/s balm today's shave was ok. I used the review soap, still trying to identify my thoughts of the tiki soap. three passes with the Grande, I'm very shaved, but not as comfy as normal. that's one mean scraper. finished with score balm, because I thought the scent would match nicely. hope y'all did as well, or better.

Sorry for your loss. I had a cat who looked a bit like Darth - he was Plato, a philosopher cat, one of the coolest.
That sounds great. I have 21 DE razors, but my DE89 is the only modern one. Maybe I'll have to make it 22! Thanks!

The Fume SS seemed to irritate my face on the second pass so I didn't do my normal shave. In fact, it seems both Arko & Fume irritate my face somewhat. That's to bad cuz I want to like them
