Prep - Hot Shower, Stirling Barber Shop Soap, Burt's Bees Deep Cleaning Face Wash Razor - Muhle R89 Rose Gold Blade – Merkur Brush – AOS Badger Cup - Sriracha Mug of Doom™ Lather – Stirling Sharp Dressed Man Post - Fine American Blend Still getting my technique down. Missed a couple spots, but had no weepers or cuts, so that's always a plus. Finding that the Merkur blades do better for this razor and my skin than any others I've tried so far. Love the Fine aftershaves, as soon as the samples run out I'll be buying a couple of the big bottles for sure.

2/2/2015 Menthol Monday!! Happy Ground Hog Day! Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO Razor: Cobra, H Boker Master Razor straight razor Blade: Feather Professional (2) Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair Soap: Stirling - Margaritas In The Arctic After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave Cologne: Prada EDT It is a cold Ground Hog Day and I had a cold shave to match. The Vie Long whipped the MITA into a cold lather. The Cobra and the Boker had no problems with knocking down the stubble. The Osage Rub brought the arctic chill and the Prada EDT will have me smelling great all day. All in all it was a cold Darn Fine Shave. Have a blessed day!
Monday, February 2, 2015 Proraso Sensitive Preshave Plisson Synthetic C.O. Bigelow + 4 drops glycerine Milord w/Gillette 7 O'clock Super Platinum (1) Cold splash, witch hazel, Nivea Mens Sensitive Post Shave Balm, TSD AS Milk - Floid Blue Type W/X/A, touch up First time using the Plisson. Very nice brush. (What's up with them? Are they being discontinued? Reconfigured? Are these fibers available on other brushes?) Regular readers know it's rare for me to get a nice shave with a vintage razor. But the Milord paired with the 7 O'clock SP made for a Decent+ shave, with only 2 nicks. I have never like Nivea products (either their performance or their scent), but I've been using the Sensitive PSB for about a week, and I love it. It performs as well, or better, than the Lab Series balm for which I paid 6 times as much.

The Single rings vary in aggression. I have a number in my collection and each one is different to the other, some by quite a margin. Very efficient I like them.
Menthol Monday: Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger Soap: Ginger's Garden Grass Stain Menthol Snow Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1) Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (1, 2, 3) Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS splash Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy This is probably my favorite setup. For overall performance, Ginger's Garden is definitely my top soap: RazoRock may lather a touch easier, and Stirling may be a mite better on post-shave skincare, but for the total package, I can't beat Ginger's Garden as of yet. Loaded with a Bic, the Merkur 41c isn't too mild for my whiskers, while the Bic isn't too sharp when paired with the limited blade exposure of the 41c. Three passes produced BBS results, with one tiny weeper on my throat. It was such a nice shave that I'm considering a Polar Bear week of menthol in February.
Prep - Woods Of Windsor Cedar Woods soap / Pre-lather / 3 min steam towel Razor - Gillette Slim Adjustable (at 5) Blade - Gillette Silver Blue (#2) Brush - Omega 20106 Soap - Arko with Orange EO After - Frozen towel / Alum Result - BBS Change from my usual routine of showering beforehand, to see the difference, if any. Washed my face in the sink and then did my usual "Kyles Method". Also my first ever DE within a 48 hour period. My shaves are so good that I really only have to shave every three days but thought I'd see how my face handled the change. The result was good but I still prefer the shower and there wasn't as much stubble for the blade to cut so I didn't feel any benefit. I'll stick to the shower and every three days thank you very much!

I'm glad you're time stamping your photos, otherwise I'd think you pulled this from your last shave E-
I have no picture for today as my phone was charging during the shave/shower time...but...LOVE THE IKON 102 for an everyday shave!!! Prep: hot shower with a Noxzema face wash Razor: Ikon 102 with short handle (bulldog I think) Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock (yellow) Cream: First - Vitos Actual Cream used: C.O. Bigelow Brush: Gillette fine badger chrome from AoS Passes: 3 + clean up Post shave: cold water + TSD Milk (traditional plus ice ) First let me say to the newbies: DON'T BE AFRAID TO REDO YOUR CREAM/SOAP IF IT ISN'T GIVING YOU THE CONSISTENCE YOU WANT OR NEED! I mistakenly left the lid off my sample of Vito's cream and it was a bit on the hard side when I added it to my cup this morning. I tried to work through and even applied to my face - the results was not was I wanted and choose to redo with another cream vs. risking the nicks and cuts. Once I redid the cream with some Bigelow, I was ready to make my first pass. Probably the smoothest pull from a first pass in ages. The rest of the shave was epic. I wanted to chase the bbs and was darn close. I am finding the I like the control of the short bulldog handle form ikon more than the longer. More control I guess. But I'll stick with this for the week me thinks. Or until I get my new soaps in! Cheers! E-
I'm seriously interested in getting either that Ikon slant, or hold out for the RR aluminum slant whenever it comes back in. Heard nothing but good things about both for people with tough beards and sensitive skin.
