I could change the date but that wouldn't be any fun. I have used some pics over before, when I was doing the 30 day challenge.
Normally for my Menthol Monday Shave I'd use a Glacial soap, but it's so unbearably-cold and windy today that I felt that to use such intense menthol would be too much for me, (believe it or not!) so I went with my MITA instead. It was still very cold and enjoyable. Tomorrow is going to be another brutally-cold day so I 'll use my Italian Palmolive Menthol cream. That's also darned frigid, but not to the point that it's intolerable.

The Merkur progress is a great razor - but the ikon slant is amazing and my chin/neck is pretty sensitive.
Yeah my neck is my big problem spot. It's just on my right hand side though. If I can get that under control, I'd be a happy camper. I know my techniques is still lacking, but I'm working on that. Hopefully one of the slants would help out the irritation too.
it's not your razor choice that causing the irritation on only one side of your neck. it's the angle of your blade in relation to your skin. keeping the correct angle, without adding undue pressure is the key. patients helps, stick with it, you'll get there.
I like Menthol! An extra four drops of mbomb in my Proraso green, and two drops in my TSD witch hazel with Eucalyptus. Hugo Boss to finish. DFS+
Well stated David! While it may feel that the razor is doing its work, it could also be scraping across your skin because of the angle, causing irritation. I started placing the razor on the back of my hand to actually SEE the proper angle. Then I've tried to translate that to my face. My shaves have improved. The lack of AS feedback tells me that.

February 2 Stirling Sheep Soap Feather Artist Club razor (aka "The Hammer") Feather Professional blade (day 1) Two-band silvertip Stirling Naked and Smooth soap plus a few bits of leftover soap & glycerin One-pass plus touch-ups Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, & unrefined shea butter This is February Focus day number two to improve my skills using a shavette. I had a better shave today than yesterday, considering I had only one small weeper on my chin. It took everything I had to stop at one pass, but I'm glad that I did. I have a little more stubble this evening than I normally have. Shaving my cheeks is relatively easy, with the chin area being slightly more difficult. My upper lip and lower neck are my two most challenging areas. It will take time and practice for me to achieve a close and comfortable two- or three-pass shave with this set up. NO pressure, correct blade angle, and much patience are going to be key success factors for me. I'm still getting used to my new two-band brush. I've never used a brush with such soft tips and good backbone like this one. I wish the handle was a bit longer, but my opinion may change with time. I hope you all have a blessed week and smooth shaves!
