    PSO: Palmer's oil
    lather: Dalan D'Men cream
    brush: Vie-Long Cachurro 04312
    blade: Ladas (1)
    razor: FaTip Grande
finish: HolyRollah's awesome DIY balm >here<

Today was getting reacquainted with the FaTip Grande. He let me know that returning from a break from The Beast is not quite like getting back on a bicycle! No damage, though. A decent enough BBS(rf), but it cost a few weepers and a little bit of redness, but no real irritation.

I intended to continue putting the Palmer's oil through some more discovery, but The Beast took most of my attention today. I applied between a nickel and quarter size puddle of the Palmer's oil. The Dalan lathered over it without a hiccup, so I am gaining confidence in the oilier PSO approach — at least with Palmer's! I was just paying attention to other, more face-preserving, things when I would have checked for the creamy-silkiness of the last couple of shaves.

When I applied my version of Kevin's DIY balm, I thought I might have felt a little more sting than I experienced. I noticed a few weepers and thought my skin looked a little bit red. This usually means it's gonna sting, right? Kevin's balm is quite soothing, but I still expected some kind of stinging feedback. Not so much, really. I wonder if it was the liberal use of the PSO. I missed "creamy-silky" but still reaped the benefit? Could be...

I think that I'll repeat this setup tomorrow, but finish with Pinaud VI Bay Rum. If that doesn't "bring the sting," nothing will!

Celestino, NO! Don't let the waves hit that beautiful brush! That brush should be on a display stand.

Hahahaha! Not to worry, Mike! All of my gear knows that they need to be durable, adaptable, and transportable and not just aesthetically pleasing! I come from an immigrant, Portuguese, working-class family and everything has to be put to use! Nothing is too fancy not to be used in my home! :lyrtuy5:

I got up early today so that I could shave before having to go to the dentist. 3 passes and a lovely shave before getting a root canal. :(

    I'm going back to bed.

    Tyr's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ginger's Garden Grass Stain Menthol Snow
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG(4, 5)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman AS splash
Cologne: Velvet Mood by Maison Francis Kurkdjian

Yesterday's shave was so nice, I needed to do it twice. Only 2 passes today, so I stopped at DFS, but the shave was so effortless and smooth that I had to listen attentively to be sure the blade was reducing the stubble. I switched out the Aqua Velva from yesterday for the Pinaud Clubman today, which I find a bit more medicinal on my skin - referencing its benefits, not its scent, here. I like the Velvet Mood sample, though I'm not 100% sure I'll be investing in a full bottle once it's gone, as other ouds are perhaps a bit more my preference.

    No shave this morning!

Muhle r41 planned for either later today or tomorrow morning. I wanted to see how this razor and the Crystal Super+ (aka 'IP', Israeli Personna) pairs for me.

Since handling the items in my cabinet to take pics for
Grump's Shave Cabinet and Stash with pics, I am revisiting items I haven't used or tried in a while.

Hahahaha! Sorry, Herm! Vancouver is quite a beautiful city with many varying topographies! However, the water is too frigid to swim in, even in the summer! :lyrtuy5:

Kerry- I bought it last year, only used once previously. It is aggressive, but with care provides a super close shave!

Day 4 of Loving the EJ DE89 Week. The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh WC1 Silver Tip Brush. Two passes with my Edwin Jagger DE89 and a Personna Stainless Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Well just one day way from completing my 30 day it had to happen. Got a little too high on my lower lip and the blade caught. I have been using the DE since last November and this was the biggest bleeder yet :shocked029: - Was able to get through my second pass. - Turned out a pretty decent shave but had to put the alum block and styptic to the test. Went to work with a small scab on the edge of lower lip. Oh well it could have been worse. Tomorrow is a new shave day.
