Here are some of my hand carved brushes they are all 30 mm silver tip badger knots. They are much larger than the lathe brushes, that's why I started making my own brushes a wanted a handle to fit in my hand nicely. After making a couple on a lathe I now know why many of the factory wood handles a so small. You waste so much wood on a lathe lol

I missed the type of wood?

It is red cedar. I use cedar or cypress because I just cut prices from some dead trees in the swamp and make the handles from them. Sometimes I have to cut a lot of rotting wood away to get to the good wood but I'm not using really large pieces so it doesn't matter

Amazing looking wood, beautiful. I see a reality show in your future, "Swamp Wood Brushes" or something like that. Right after "Swamp People"?

I don't think many people will watch a professor slowly smoke a pipe while whittling a peice of wood or turning one lol. I'm an immigrant to Louisiana not a native as you see on tv. But it's an interesting idea although

Well on second thought we can have a swamp hunting show where your only weapon is a straight razor and Clubman aftershave lol

I dunno, "watching a professor slowly smoke a pipe while whittling a piece of wood" sounds calming to me.
