    Hi all,

I am new to this DE shaving and have only been doing it for about 2-3 weeks. Today was my 5th shave. I typically shave every other day cause I can. Before I started DE shaving I would sometimes go without shaving for like 4 days cause I was never into the Cartridge shave but that is what I was using so dreaded it some! LOL

Now when I get done with a DE shave like today, I am counting down the clock before I will do it again and even thinking about doing it every day to work on my technique or lack of one.

Hope to fine tune my technique and gear to a "reasonably" small amount and not turn into some kind of collector, just user. I haven't had that much luck when it comes to folding knives, Vic sak's or multitools though!

I also hope to pick up some great info here and help in getting what works for me (i.e. my gear).

    Thx.

Glad you've joined us here at the Den. Your shaves "WILL" begin to get better and better with time and you will probably collect some razors. After all you need to try one of each type, so you know what you prefer..:happy088: My advice start out spending as little as you can and work your way up to the more expensive stuff.. :happy097: I have a small collection of one hand opening folding knives also(Spyderco, CRKT, Benchmade, Kershaw, etc.) What's your favorite EDC? I carry a Spyderco Chaparral myself sweet little mid lockback..:)

The Chaparral is a very nice little blade. I had one for quite some time but now I pretty much just carry a sak and/or a Delica.

@sir_mike welcome to The Shave Den and to the world of traditional shaving! I'm sure you will learn a lot and have great fun as well.

I carry a Swiss Army Pioneer and either a Spyderco Sage 1 or Sage 2 with me most of the time. What is your favorite SAK?

    Thanks for the welcome all!

My favorits sak now is the Ranger as I love the tool set, which I carry on a P-7 clip. Another fav is the Explorer and if I carry light, I go with the Spartan and sometimes add the Delica or a Leatherman MT with it.

@GDCarrigton - thanks for the warm welcome and the links. I would like to see more info on the subject of razor aggression, it there an actual chart/study done like the blades?

    Thx.
