I was hurried in my shave today, so I only took 2 passes. I ended up with a decent, not BBS shave, but with no irritation, weepers, or cuts.

    Pre - Corn Huskers
    Soap - RR XXX
    Brush - WD Silvertip 24/50
    Razor - 66 Slim Adj (6,5,4)
    Blade - Astra SP (1)
    AS - The VEG
Much better shave today; close, smooth and comfortable. It also seems the longer the VEG is in glass the better it gets...

    Whipped Dog Synthetic
    C. O. Bigelow + 4 drops glycerine
    '60 Fat Boy (6) w/Gillette 7 O'clock SP (4)
Cold splash, alum, Nivea Sensitive, TSD AS Milk - Floid Blue Type
    W/X/A, touch ups

Third day with this set up. I upped the aggressiveness one notch. I meant to back off to "5" for the X and A, but forgot, so I did the entire shave on "6." Best shave yet with the FB. Only two slight nicks. I would call this shave "Acceptable." I'm going to spend a couple more days with this set up and try to get a little closer without any irritation.

I also shaved off my 2 square inch goatee, and had to relearn how to shave without it there. More difficult than you think.

    image.jpg Razor: Gillette Slim (k3) 1965 (5) (3)
Brush: Jerusalem Olive Wood/WD Silvertip 24/48
Mug: Old Spice (late glass Mug 04) 1970s -1992 The last OS Mugs
    Cream: Jack Black cream
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice original Shulton 1980 glass AS (gift from my father in law)
The Jersalem Olive Wood/WD is a great soft brush on my face, but with its low set whipped up the JB cream in no time. I really like the slim, the heavy handle and head gave me a nice smooth shave with no pressure. Just 2 passes WTG XTG on my face, and WTG ATG on my neck with the Slim set at (3). Just have to not over buff my neck, because on 3 the Slim is very mild, even with a Feather. The JB cream gives a nice cushion and complements the JB Post Shave Gel very well. No burn! And the Vintage OS from the 80s tops it off nicely. Y'all have a good one!

Nice Gillette Goodwill! I have not seen one like that. Do you have any history on it? USA or Canada and the year. Can't tell from the photo if it is built on an "OLD" or "NEW".

I gotta start taking more photos of my shave gear to post! I get so jealous of some of the cool brushes you all have. But I figure 4 razors, a dozen or so different blade types, 10 plus soaps and creams, its a good start.

    Today's shave:
    Prep: Hot shower/Noxzema face wash
    Pre-shave:Stirling Menthol Preshave oil
Soap: Stirling Frozen Tundra Soap (ATF!)
Razor: Gillette Fat Handle Tech (Jan Newbie Give-away gift!)
    Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock (yellow)
    Passes: 3 plus clean up
Post: cold water, Stirling black ice witch hazel w/ aloe and Stirling Post-Shave Balm (barber shop)

I have to say, I'm in love with Stirling products. Wet shaving has changed the way I think about personal grooming, but Stirling has raised the bar for me to another level. Hot water in the tin with soap while I showered. Made loading so much easier. Love the chill from the Frozen Tundra and have yet to nick myself with their soaps (knock on wood!)

I keep reaching to rub my cheeks and neck to feel the bbs.

    Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Bulldog Original face wash
Geo F. Trumpers Sandalwood Hair and body wash

    Soap/cream- CELLA

    Brush- Whipped dog 24mm silvertip

    Razor- Merkur 37c

    Blade- Astra SP

Post- Cold water rinse, Aqua Velva Ice blue aftershave lotion and Nivea original aftershave balm

First time using CELLA. Very easy to lather and smells very nice. I love the marzipan/almond scent. My whipped dog generated tons of lather. It was a little different to load because of the small diameter of the tub. But it's no problem.

It's only my second shave with the Merkur 37c. And well, let's say I haven't mastered it yet =P no irritation today but I don't feel I got close enough. Plus I nicked a small bump. No styptic needed.

I need more practice =) I'll of course master it.

From what I understand the slants take a little more getting use to and seem a little more on the aggressive side. I never used one so I could be wrong but that is what read!
