Man alive, I enjoyed my shave with the Glacial Lavender soap this morning - that lather felt like standing outside in twenty below zero weather which is what we're getting right now!

    Frey's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ogallala Bay Rum & Sandalwood stick
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Asco SS: Red (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock One0X AS splash
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d' Orange

Woke up at 5am with a migraine, and had to wait the three hours for my medicine to work before I could start my shave routine. I loaded my last Asco SS into the 41c, simply to reduce the number of variables while trying to make the Ogallala perform as I would like. As the first lathering is always the one that gives me the most trouble, I tried rinsing off the preshave balm before rubbing the stick across my skin; it seemed to help some, as the first pass's lather was more stable than in previous uses of the stick; that said, the lather wasn't good for all three passes, regardless of my soap:water ratio. Predictably after a migraine and with a new blade, I had some minor weepers on my throat from the 3rd pass, but otherwise a near BBS result.

    Fridays shave.
First shave with the Spuknik blade. It felt a bit rough, hopefully it will feel a little better tomorrow.
I really enjoy the Tobs. The scent is amazing, and it's so easy to whip up a good lather with the Plisson.

    Razor - Stealth Slant V.3
    Blade - Sputnik
    Brush - L'occitane Plisson Synthetic
    Lather - Tobs Jermyn St.
    Shaving Cream
Aftershave - Nivea moisturising balm for men.

    PSO: Palmer's oil
    lather: MWF
    brush: Omega 31064
    blade: Ladas (3)
razor: generic Old type - no markings
finish: HolyRollah's awesome DIY balm >here<

The second voyage of the Generic Old Type was a repeat pleasure. Though fairly efficient for a mild razor, it is still no R41 or FaTip. Yesterday's shave lasted well into the afternoon, but did wear off a bit sooner than shaves from an aggressive razor. Perhaps this is what tempted me into the mild razor trap (again!). Not feeling the bite, I ran too many passes on some touchup efforts. Still... it was nothing that Kevin's balm couldn't remedy. Decent BBS.

I am still quite pleased with this lightweight, mild razor (I will post some pics tonight... really!). I'll keep it on my short list, but I am once again pondering "What do I want from a razor?" Maybe the reason I can't answer the question is I want is all! :scared011:

Yeah... good luck with that! ;)

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Cobra, Imperial Razor Barbers Favorite straight razor
    Blade: Feather Professional (13)
    Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
    Soap: RazoRock - Neroli
After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave
    Cologne: Cuir Cannage

It is a cold Friday morning. The Neroli whipped up nicely this morning by the Vie Long brush. The Cobra and the Barbers Favorite did a good job. The Osage Rub brought the arctic chill and the Cuir Cannage will have me smelling great all day. All in all it was a 2 pass almost BBS shave.

    Have a blessed day!
