  2. image.jpg Razor: Gillette Goodwill #162 1934 (4 corner positioning posts)
Brush: Badassshaving Flaming Birch Black Badger 24/55
Mug: Old Spice (late glass Mug 02) 1964 – 1978
    Cream: Jack Black cream
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Balm, Old Spice original Shulton 1947 glass Talcum powder (ship Mt. Vernon sailing to right), Old Spice original Shulton 1973 - 1975 Lantern Decanter AS
The Gillette Goodwill is a nice mild razor for me even with a Feather blade. This version is built with Gillette "New" parts. There are many versions out there using "Old" and "New" made in the USA and Canada. I whipped up a thick warm lather in the OS Mug as it was sitting on a wash cloth, for padding, in the sink that was filled with hot water. Very nice two pass shave with some touchup. I really like this JB cream. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some JB Balm. Finished with some vintage OS talc on my neck and then some vintage Old Spice. This was my first shave with this Goodwill, and it was very nice.
  3. I was leaning toward a bay rum shave and your picture helped make the decision that much easier. PS, great looking brush, I will be using the same today.

    Red Cedar AS

  7. Thanks, I am starting to use it more often now. It is a Captains Choice Lather Bowl, should have washed it a little better before taking the the photograph. The camera does lie.

    Whipped Dog Synthetic
MWF + Nivea Sensitive Shave Cream
    '60 Fat Boy (6,5,5) w/Gillette 7 O'clock SP (2)
Cold splash, alum, witch hazel, Nivea Sensitive Balm, TSD AS Milk
    W/X/A, touch up (W)

Sixth day with this razor/blade combo. I finally found an acceptable balance between a very close shave but with too much irritation (yesterday), and an acceptable shave with limited irritation (today). The difference is going only with the grain on my touch up. I'm just happy to finally be using my Fat Boy.

I added the Nivea Cream to my lather after the first pass. I'm still experimenting with the MWF, and I had a rather anemic lather.
  9. Sehr gut gehobelt, oder? ;) Und wie immer ein fantastisches Bild, mein lieber! :)

  10. Glad you like your FB! Mine is my go to razor using 5 on my face and 3 on my neck. I used mine for all of January and had to force myself to get back to my rotation. On 3 I have to be carefull not to over buff an area or I will get burned.

  11. I used to work in an acute hospital and my wife in a bank. So both jobs can become, shall we say stressful, so as a get away we bought a second home on the coast. Somewhere to retreat to. But I do understand why you ask.
But we're close to Sandringham etc, so it's not to bad.. Lol...

  17. I can vouch for everything Thorsten said about the Anherb conditioner because I have it also. It's one of the finest aftershave balms I ever used. The scent is manly and pleasant and the cooling and soothing sensations are terrific. I have sensitive skin, but every time I use this stuff I feel like my skin has been born again. :)

    Mystery boar
TOBS Almond and TOBS Sensitive Skin creams in a warm bowl (samples)

Posting a bit late today. I don't normally go past 5 shaves on a blade but that's not a problem with a Black Ninja.

  20. Today’s Shave: First time trying the Lea. For a tallow shave stick it is not in the same league as Arko. Its lather was not as thick but it was nearly the same slickness - just thinner. It also doesn’t explode the way Arko does - it took a little while to get it going. Everything worked out fine in the end and I got another DFS/BBS result from the Tech. Here’s a photo of the weeds in my backyard which I am not going to pull. I’ll take any green I can get out here in the desert.
