SOTD Tuesday 2-17-2015 1959 Gillette SS Red Tip w/Crystal Noxema Tabac SC GP Scuttle Omega Boar Dickinson's WH GB Body Lotion Jovan Musk ASL/Cologne Jumping on the Red Tip Bandwagon this morning. All of the Super Speeds deliver a great shave and the Red Tip is the most aggressive of them. Paired with a good blade they are exceptional.
Thank you. Sounds like its a good soap =) Its not the first time I hear that the AS is not the best =P you're not alone Im on a bay rum "want" high. Only tried 1 so far, but have 2 other. The stirling bay rum is a very nice scent, also the Barrister and Mann and Colonel conk. But I haven't tried the last 2 =P i will soon.
I went with MDC again today. This was a creamy, smooth, refreshing two pass shave. MDC Rapira Stainless Slim Adjustable
Razor: Gillette Ball End Tech NDC (declared 1947) Birth Year Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip 30/45 Mug: Old Spice (late glass Mug 02) 1964 – 1978 Cream: TOBS Grapefruit Blade: Feather (1) Pre shave: Tree Hut Shea Body wash Mango Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Balm, TOBS The Gillette Tech is a nice mild razor for me even with a Feather blade.. It does give me some burn if I use to much pressure and I go over an area more than once on each pass. The pre shave Shea soap helps keep my skin slick in the drier weather. The WD brush whipped up a thick warm lather in the OS Mug as it was sitting on a wash cloth, for padding, in the sink that was filled with hot water. The Silvertip is soft and warm on my face with that TOBS Grapefruit smell. Very nice two pass shave with some touchup. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some JB Balm and some TOBS AS. Have a good one.
SOTD 2-17-15 Vacation Shave Hot Shower and Prep -Neutrogena Men Invigorating Face Wash Gillette Ball End Tech circa 46'-49' Blade Ladas (1) - Brush - Plisson Synthetic Lather - Chose the Proraso White to go with the snowy day Post - Warm water rinse, Maggard Razor Alum, wait 30 seconds then cool water rinse, Neutorgena Razor Defense Post Shave Lotion Two pass with some touch ups - an OK shave. - I have not used the tech for about two months so I suspect my technique was off a bit - I felt the burn from the alum. The tech also seems to be bit milder than the Merkur 34C HD so I probably worked it too hard. - Hoping it warms up enough to get out later this afternoon
Tuesdays shave Last time use the Spuknik blade things didn't go very well. I didn't have high expectations for today. However today it was wonderful. I think the difference is with the stealth Version 3 there are 2 ways to align the blades. Firstly unequally which is how is meant to be done. Secondly you can align the blade so it is equal on both sides. Today I loaded the blade so it was equal in both sides, not what I did the last time I used the Spuknik blade. This time the shave was smooth and close. Pre shave - Edwin Jagger Hydrating Pre shave lotion Razor - Stealth Slant V.3 Blade - Sputnik (2) Lather - Taylor of old Bond Street, Jermyn St scent Brush - L'occitane Plisson Synthetic Aftershave - Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve
Shave of the day Pre- Hot shower, Bulldog Original face wash, Sandalwood bar soap Soap/cream- CELLA Brush- Whipped dog 24mm silvertip Razor- Merkur 37c Blade- Astra SP Post- Cold water rinse, Proraso Eucalyptus and menthol aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive aftershave balm First I wanna say I'm feeling really good about introducing some cold water into my shaves. I have started to rinse my razor and face between passes with cold water. I gotta say I like it a lot. I thought rinsing with warm water was good for the shave. Secondly I wanna say WOW to the Proraso aftershave. I LOVE it =D I was expecting to like it and it really lived up to my expectations. I have decided that after my no buy ends I'm gonna get some more proraso products. More aftershaves, definitely the White soap and the blue tub and MAYBE the preshaves. But I don't use preshaves very often. My face "looks" bumbpy, but I don't have bumps. It's strange. I don't know how to explain it, I might need a facial. A deep cleansing or something =P I'm getting better at shaving with my Merkur 37c, me likey very much =)
2/17/2015 Tobacco Tuesday Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO Razor: Cobra Classic, "The Hornet" straight razor Blade: KAI Captain Titan Mild (1) Brush: Turkish #6 Soap: RazoRock - Tobacco #2 After: Home made ASB, Aqua Velva Musk after shave Cologne: Tom Ford - Tobacco Vanille Tobacco Tuesday with a 2 pass almost BBS shave. Brrr, it was -2 degrees this morning. I broke out the scuttle for a warm shave this morning. The #6 whipped up the Tobacco #2 into a great lather. The Tobacco #2 has a base scent of pipe tobacco with a pungent earthy tone added. The lather was thick, slick and protective. The Cobra and "The Hornet" had no problem with the 2 days worth of stubble. The AV brought some protection and the TV will have me smelling fabulous for the rest of the day. Have a blessed day!
A mild and pretty efficient shave as I continue on with using the Wilkinson "Sticky" for the whole week. Razor: Wilkinson Sword Sticky Blade: Polsilver SI Soap: Soap Commander Endurance Brush: SOC Boar A/S: Sante Provence Body splash: The Veg
I'm not sure if it's growing on me - I do like it though. It's a very pleasant scent. I wouldn't call it an Old Spice scent - or even spicy in any way really. The performance is outstanding for me - incredible lather.

We got some snow and ice here in North Cackalacky, too. I couldn't get out of the neighborhood until 5pm. It is supposed to get down to -4 tonight. I was tempted to take a snowy picture, but I did not give in.
