Been using the low settings on this razor and while it takes a little more effort I've been getting great shaves and blades are lasting a shave or two longer.
    Happy Hump day

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Cleaning Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Ginger's Garden Oakmoss glycerin
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bolzano Superinox (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS splash
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

It had been quite some time since I last paired the Bolzano with the 41c, as I've found I prefer it in my more aggressive FaTip. However, the base plate for the FaTip is currently presumed hiding in the recesses of my bathroom, so I decided to try the combo again. The 56 whipped up wonderful lather with the Ginger's Garden Oakmoss, and the Bolzano had no trouble mowing down an extra day's worth of stubble. In 3 passes, the closest I came to any bloodshed - other than the back of my middle finger while loading the blade - was when I played 'find the pimple' on the final pass. Nearly BBS results left my face feeling good, with the Oakmoss and Clubman providing good aftercare and a nice complimentary scent underlying the Xeryus.

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Muhle R41 2013 model, John Jay Velvet Shaver straight razor
    Blade: Astra SP (1)
    Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
    Soap: Cella
After: Home made ASB, Grey Flannel after shave balm
    Cologne: Grey Flannel EDT

Another almost BBS shave. The Vie Long brush whipped up the Cella into a good lather. The R41 and the Velvet Shaver did their jobs admirably. The Grey Flannel ASB brought the protection and the Grey Flannel EDT will have me smelling good for the rest of the day.

    Have a blessed day!

image.jpg Razor: Gillette 85 Super Adjustable "Black Beauty” (p2) 1970 named “The Black Pearl” (5) (3)
Brush: Fuller Amber Badger 1920s -1940s
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
Cream: The Body Shop Maca Root cream
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Balm,Tommy Bahamas St. Barts cologne
"The Black Pearl" is out for a sail today, with a salty crew. My brush whipped up the Maca Root in no time. The Pearl is set on 5 as are all my adjustables, which works great with a sharp Feather blade. Good cushion and slickness with the warm Maca and the Fuller Amber Badger is soft on my face. WTG ATG on (5) on my face changing hands for each side. WTG on my neck on (5) using the opposite hand per side. ATG my neck on (3) right hand right side left hand left side. Smooth 2 pass shave with a little touchup on the right side of my neck. The weight of the head on the Pearl does all the work, as it sails through the rough sea. A nice splash of Cucumber WH, and then after cleanup some Jack Black Balm. Jaaaack, very nice, reminds me of your cousin Capt. Jack Sparrow. Some Tommy Bahamas St. Barts, I really like this scent, citrus with a hint of Tequila, yes Tequila. Out to plunder, and pillage. Have a good one you salty dog. Arrrrrh!

Razor: iKon Standard head w/bulldog handle
    Blade: Astra SP (3)
    Soap: Arko
    Brush: VDH deluxe kit boar

Three pass shave, WTG, XTG and XTG again for rough spots. Ended up with a DFS with only one small nick (by corner of mouth, trying to get BBS and some OCD) and no irritation!

Great day for me and to top it all off, my Arko twist up container arrived! Woo-hoo! :)

EDIT: I did have a little issue of the Arko drying out some during the first pass so I did have to stop and redo it, which I did not like but it was necessary as the razor starting to tub so I knew it. Also it was collecting some in the razor so I figured it wasnt moist enough but looked very good when I created it by face lathering! Weird huh? Didn't ruin my shave thought! :)

Prep - Shower / Woods Of Windsor Cedar Woods soap / Pre-lather / 3 min steam towel
Razor - Gillette Fat Handled Tech
Blade - Gillette Silver Blue (#4)
    Brush - Omega 20106
    Soap - Cella
After - Frozen towel / Alum
    Result - BBS

Well, it's official, the Fat Handled Tech is my favourite razor. Close call between it and my Slim Adjustable but I just love the look of this. I reckon the handle works better for me, especially compared to my Ball Handled Tech. The grip is good but I reckon it allows me to manoeuvre the razor much better.
It's a mild one alright but with a sharp blade like the GSB or Feathers, it's outstanding. I always get a very comfortable shave, and certainly one I can totally depend on if needed. It'll be in my ready-to-go bag from now on.
