  5. SOTD 2-18-15

Razor: iKon Standard head w/bulldog handle
    Blade: Astra SP (3)
    Soap: Arko
    Brush: VDH deluxe kit boar

Three pass shave, WTG, XTG and XTG again for rough spots. Ended up with a DFS with only one small nick (by corner of mouth, trying to get BBS and some OCD) and no irritation!

Great day for me and to top it all off, my Arko twist up container arrived! Woo-hoo! :)

EDIT: I did have a little issue of the Arko drying out some during the first pass so I did have to stop and redo it, which I did not like but it was necessary as the razor starting to tub so I knew it. Also it was collecting some in the razor so I figured it wasnt moist enough but looked very good when I created it by face lathering! Weird huh? Didn't ruin my shave thought! :)

  6. Prep - Shower / Woods Of Windsor Cedar Woods soap / Pre-lather / 3 min steam towel
Razor - Gillette Fat Handled Tech
Blade - Gillette Silver Blue (#4)
    Brush - Omega 20106
    Soap - Cella
After - Frozen towel / Alum
    Result - BBS

Well, it's official, the Fat Handled Tech is my favourite razor. Close call between it and my Slim Adjustable but I just love the look of this. I reckon the handle works better for me, especially compared to my Ball Handled Tech. The grip is good but I reckon it allows me to manoeuvre the razor much better.
It's a mild one alright but with a sharp blade like the GSB or Feathers, it's outstanding. I always get a very comfortable shave, and certainly one I can totally depend on if needed. It'll be in my ready-to-go bag from now on.

  8. You get a PIF at the end of each visit to the dentist!

  9. I'll have to wait for that PIF. :)
The dentist called me this morning and said they don't take my insurance - probably should have mentioned that when I made the appointment. I'm going to a different dentist Friday.

  11. It's one of the smoothest shavers I've used to date. Really nice weight to it and not overly aggressive but gets as close of shave as you would want.

  14. Today’s Shave: Another great 90%+ BBS shave with the blue tip and Wilkinson. This was the first shave using a “real” badger. Face lathering Dreadnought is probably not the best usage for it. Can’t wait to try it with other lathers.
    • Growth: 1 day
    • Prep: Shower; Corn Huskers Lotion
    • Lather: Dreadnought
    • Brush: Whipped Dog High Mountain 24/52
    • Razor: 1957 Blue Tip Super Speed

  17. Thursday morning's shaving plans:

Neutrogena Men Facial Wash :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/SuperMax Blue day 4
Derbylux SC :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Gold Bond Moisturizer :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Dolce & Gabbana EdT

Here's another cream which I've neglected for too long - this Derbylux is great stuff. It's made in Hungary by the same company which produces the Barbon and Figaro creams, and it has a very pleasant, classic scent with plenty of rich lather which is so easy to work up, as well as a terrific menthol sensation. Once again I'm opting for the Gold Bond moisturizer for additional cooling, and TREMENDOUS cooling from the Aqua Velva. Let's see if I get as BBS tomorrow as I did today! ;) :D

  18. Geez I get cold just reading your SOTD. BTW did you ever try the Barbasol Pacific Rush aftershave? IMO, much colder these the Aqua Velva.

  19. No, unfortunately that aftershave doesn't seem to be available here in Canada. :(

  20. No Dollar General? That's the only place I can find it. I'd mail you some but I think the PO had a problem with that. Too bad, if anybody should have it, you should!
