I'll have to wait for that PIF. :)
The dentist called me this morning and said they don't take my insurance - probably should have mentioned that when I made the appointment. I'm going to a different dentist Friday.

It's one of the smoothest shavers I've used to date. Really nice weight to it and not overly aggressive but gets as close of shave as you would want.

Today’s Shave: Another great 90%+ BBS shave with the blue tip and Wilkinson. This was the first shave using a “real” badger. Face lathering Dreadnought is probably not the best usage for it. Can’t wait to try it with other lathers.
    • Growth: 1 day
    • Prep: Shower; Corn Huskers Lotion
    • Lather: Dreadnought
    • Brush: Whipped Dog High Mountain 24/52
    • Razor: 1957 Blue Tip Super Speed
    • Blade: German Wilkinson Sword (3)
    • Post: Alum; Pinaud Clubman

    Thursday morning's shaving plans:

Neutrogena Men Facial Wash :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/SuperMax Blue day 4
Derbylux SC :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Gold Bond Moisturizer :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Dolce & Gabbana EdT

Here's another cream which I've neglected for too long - this Derbylux is great stuff. It's made in Hungary by the same company which produces the Barbon and Figaro creams, and it has a very pleasant, classic scent with plenty of rich lather which is so easy to work up, as well as a terrific menthol sensation. Once again I'm opting for the Gold Bond moisturizer for additional cooling, and TREMENDOUS cooling from the Aqua Velva. Let's see if I get as BBS tomorrow as I did today! ;) :D

Geez I get cold just reading your SOTD. BTW did you ever try the Barbasol Pacific Rush aftershave? IMO, much colder these the Aqua Velva.

No Dollar General? That's the only place I can find it. I'd mail you some but I think the PO had a problem with that. Too bad, if anybody should have it, you should!

Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap
    Jayaruh WC1 Silver Tip
Merkur 37c Heavy Duty Slant (regular hammer)
    Personna Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    Barfbasol AS

Five degrees this morning. :Animatedfrozensmily: The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh WC1 Silver Tip Brush. Two passes with my Merkur 37c Heavy Duty Slant and a Personna Stainless Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Barfbasol after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Had a great shave today!

    Pre: Shower-Hot Towel-Noxema
Equipment: Edwin Jagger DE 89 with a new Astra Superior Platinum blade loaded.
Shave: C. O. Bigelow shave cream with a few drops of glycerin
Post: Mix of Noxema & left over lather-used this to do a few touch ups. Cold water rinse-Razo Rock Alum block stick-Cold water rinse-splash of Florida Water followed by a splash of 4711 aftershave.

Talk about good timing. My new bottle of Florida Water arrived in the mail about a couple hours before my shave! I do two hot water rinses prior to shaving and two cold water rinses post shaving every time using a wash cloth. I get the water almost to the point where I can't touch it and then I put the towel on my face for about a minute and also really rough up the stubble with the towel. After this, I put a generous amount of Noxema on my face and really rub it in. I normally will mix a batch of Noxema, peppermint essential oil, & tea tree oil together, but I'm out of the essential oils. You can get a really good chill from this home-made pre-shave mix.

I always do a 3 pass shave; WTG, XTG, ATG and lately have been incorporating a touch up since I have more time(on medical leave) ;( I love the smell of the C. O. Bigelow and think it performs well, but I still will add some glycerin. In the future I would like to order some menthol crystals to make my own mentholated glycerin to add. Anyone have any good suggestions on crystals?

For my post shave I do a cold water rinse with the wash cloth and then use the alum block. The razo rock stick is very nice and easy to handle. I almost think I over use the alum block, but I love the toning effect. After this I do another cold water rinse with the wash cloth. I then used a generous splash of Florida water and a nice splash of 4711. Both of these are new to my den and man do they go well together. My wife doesn't like the smell of the Florida Water lol ! She said it smells like "old man candy" whatever that is. I think it smells like if the atomic fire ball had a citrus cinnamon cousin. The 4711 also has a great citrus scent that I really love. After applying after shave splash I usually will put on a light layer of Clubman poweder except I'm all out. Geez....what do you know another purchase.... Anyways it was a great shave! I encourage everyone to keep trying new things, new techniques, etc...

Doing a 50/50 mix of skin bracer and osage rub is also a great cold aftershave.
