I am a relatively new convert to traditional wet shaving and my Parker 22R has been relegated to the closet.A brutal poorly made piece of work.:sick007I have found the Gillette Rocket and Tech to be much less aggressive shavers and I am really enjoying them.Good luck in your quest.
Welcome. I haven't used the Parker razors, but you might like to try a mild razor such as the Gillette Tech, the Gillette 40s Super Speed, or the Wei Shi. These could be kinder. Obviously, you need to be careful about blade angle and pressure. And you might have to experiment to find a brand of blade that works well for you. You could get the right brand by chance, but most of us have to explore and try a brand for a while before we can tell. You'll enjoy this...
Well, so far the quest has been a little rocky. As lame as it sounds, I actually did cut myself pretty severly. New blade, not quite enough attention, a bit too much of a hurry, a protruding bottom lip and -- wham! 'Took me a LONG time to get the bleeding stopped. It's been 4 days and I don't dare shave around that spot. Bottom line - my own stupidity and being in too much of a hurry. I think I'm beginning to agree that the Parker may be *part* of the problem. No matter how slow & careful I've been, it's still a rough process. I've ordered a sample pack of blades, and now I think I'll search for another razor. One thing I've discovered that I will NEVER give up is brush & soap over canned shave cream. What a great difference!
Hey! I have no idea where it came from, but now it says, "vice president of the lather club" below my name! Where the *&^T%R did THAT come from?
Welcome rnoller- You've rreceived some great advice. Couple that with a healthy doe of patience and you'll be on your way to pleasant shaves.
Just saying hi Hi old newbie, I can feel your pain :shocked002, I'm new here too. I started with a str8, cus I did not have a DE yet. before my first shave I thought I'll just take this slow, and it will be all oke, No blood at all (thats what I thought). Well sufice it to say I was wrong :shocked002 there was not one place that did not have Some blood, even if it was just small. Well it is getting a lot better now. Good shaving to you, God bless, Keoma
