Found these last weekend at a local antique store. (Let's see if posting these pics works) Good, bad, or indifferent... I paid $8/ea for the two OC and one TTO. The adjustable was $25.... I've done a little research and about all I know is the OC's are 1930, the TTO is early 50's, and the adjustable is 1964. All are stamped Gillette and serial's. I can post pics of the bottoms if required. On to the pics...
These of course are after cleaning. I couldn't post the originals because they were too big...I'll have to get on the computer later to reduce them for upload.
Very nice purchase! The two TTO's have a date code with a letter and a number on the underside of the head. Find where it says REG.US and look at 7 O'Clock of the R - that's where the letter is. There will be a number on the opposite end. The number is the quarter it was made in. You can find the year it is made by looking for the date code here: http://www.safetyrazors.net/gil_ser2.htm
I think you did well sir. I've had a few of each of those razors and have liked them all. I miss my bar handled OC NEWs. I still have a Slim Adjustable and have since gotten rid of my Superspeeds.
Thanks everyone. So far I haven't used any of them yet. Still loving on my 34C. I'm excited to try the slim, and the OC's are so perty with the copper top. I do know that if the superspeed is the same as the MTO, I may not be using it much at all.
Good eye. I didn't know if that was noticeable if the photos. The SC is beautiful. The LC handle still has some corrosion/tarnish on it and is cracked at the top, so with a firm twist, it can separate from the head stud.
ok, lest see if these upload properly again... I'll do two posts just to make upload easier. These are photos of the day I brought them home before any cleaning. This first set is the Superspeed and Slim Adjustable. From what I can make out, the ser.no. on the SS says "REG US PAT. OFF" and a date code of F2. The SA says same thing and date code J1.
