02/22: Got another incredibly close shave with the Big Boy. Not sure Voshkod is the best fit for it, though. Love the Stirling Barbershop! Scent and lather are fantastic. Prep: Hot shower Pre Shave: Homemade Peppermint preshave oil Soap: Arko Brush: Omega Boar Blade: Astra SP Razor: Merkur 38 HD Barber Pole Aftershave: Witch Hazel peppermint infused, Gentlemen Jon Alum Block, Proraso, Splash of Old Spice Fresh Lime. Thoughts: Very impressed with the new Merkur, once again another Merkur razor hasn't disappointed me! The 38hd has great weight and a nice long handle to boot! All in all just a classic shave with the Arko soapy smell, and the finish with the Old Spice!
Sunday evening's SOTD: Pre-shave - warm face wash with all natural tallow soap from CW Razor - Bonsa Viennese Soap - Col. Conk's Glycerine "Lime" Brush - Omega 80625 Alum - Razorock Aftershave - Clubman Balm - L'Oreal Cream Honestly, I haven't been impressed with two of the three Conk's soaps: almond was OK, but bayrum and lime just don't load nor lather all that wellwell, the lime didn't want to stay lathered. Proraso is masterrace shaving soap in all aspects, especially scent.
Thanks, Mark! I was fortunate to get three original U2V1 handles from Rafael when he first started out and he no longer makes this model. Also, it really photographs, very well!
February 24Fat Tuesday / Tech TuesdayGillette England Flat Bottom Tech Mitchels Wool Fat The Body Shop Synthetic Brush The Body Shop White Musk ASB Aqua Velva Musk The lather exploded from the synthetic brush this morning. This was my third shave with this this brush and other two shaves the brush was mediocre. I am getting to know it, and today it made excellent lather. This is especially good as the brush is inexpensive, and know I am wondering what a Plisson would be like. I will be scouring L'Occitane to try to pick one up.
Shave of yesterday Pre- Hot shower, Bulldog Original face wash, Sandalwood bar soap Soap/cream- Seifenglatt Neroli shaving soap with 2 drops of M-Bomb Brush- Whipped dog 24mm silvertip Razor- Gillette Slim adjustable(5) Blade- LADAS Post- Cold water rinse, Old spice Whitewater aftershave lotion, Rituals Samurai Basil & tigergrass aftershave balm and Nivea sensitive aftershave balm Very nice shave. I'm loving this Seifenglatt soap. The performance is great and the scent Neroli is really nice and relaxing actually =) 2-drops of M-Bomb because I felt like a little cold shave. 2 drops is a nice amount. I don't like overdoing the menthol. This product is amazing, everyone should have it =P The LADAS definitely provide a great shave, I'm even more convinced that Astra SP are not my ideal blade. I opened a new 5 pack of LADAS and I'm sticking to them now to see if they can be my next Go2 blade =D
