Today I opened my jar of Lavender MDC and was rewarded with a typical MDC shave. 3 passes and smooth as silk. The scent of MDC Lavender is a bit on the woody side, close to L.A.S.S. Woody Lavender, and not at all sweet like TOBS Lavender. Both the unscented and Lavender make an amazing lather.

Well, I went with my Glacial Lavender soap as planned and the results were exactly what I wanted - a fantastic, frigid, BBS shave. Did I ever enjoy it! :happy108: :Animatedfrozensmily:

Mark, it sounds like MdC works great for you. I ordered the lavender and the unscented varieties earlier this week, and I look forward to trying them both for the first time. Have a great weekend!

If you haven't tried MDC yet, then you are in for a treat. MDC is only one of 3 soaps I can routinely use without a pre-shave oil and still get 0% irritation.

    Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Bulldog Original face wash, Sandalwood bar soap

    Soap/cream- Seifenglatt Neroli shaving soap

    Brush- Semogue 1470 boar
Hero of the day: Whipped dog 24mm silvertip

    Razor- Gillette Slim adjustable(5)

    Blade- Astra SP

Post- Cold water rinse, Pinaud Clubman Original aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive aftershave balm with 1 drop of M-Bomb.

Started lathering with my Semogue I only got mediocre lather. I tried to shave anyway but I stopped in the middle of the pass because It was not a protective lather. I picked up my Whipped dog silvertip and tried again. And wow, the lather just exploded. What a difference!

Nevertheless I still got some irritation. And Pinaud Clubman wasn't shy of telling me =P

The results was an Okey shave. Pretty close. I don't know if it's because of the lather or because I haven't used the slim for a while. Or if my face was raw from the Semogue. We'll see next time =)

One drop of M-Bomb is enough for a nice cooling sensation. It was a GOOD finish!

I need to break in this brush a little more, I'm not happy with it so far. Any tips, more than using it? Because when I use it, it's to scritchy.

    Tabac Blast!
I combined Tabac soap and Tabac cream to make amazing lather and a superb shave. After washing my face I applied the cream as a pre shave in a thin layer. I then loaded the silvertip with soap and face lathered. It was best on the first pass, but the shave was optimal nonetheless. Krampert's Bay Rum is an excellent partner for Tabac.

    A little something different today...

    Barrister & Mann Laviathan
    Parker best badger
    Fatip piccolo
    Cold water/alum rinse
    Captains Choice Sandalwood

Today was one of those really good Fatip days!

My wife told me I smelled like "fragrant dust". I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not...
