1. Maybe I am just an OFT-(Old Fart in Training), but all the Clubman Original products smell like the barbershops from my youth and I miss the old school barbershops from the late 60's and 70's. They were truly the last place that men could call their own. No metro-sexual scents or hairdressers ALLOWED. After a recent divorce, I am leaning towards the idea of dumping the bride and keeping all things Clubman. Must just be a Hater.:angry021:

Clubman Aftershave is a strong barbershop scent. I have used it instead of a shower after working outside. :happy088:

  3. I find it quite the opposite. It dries down very quickly and after an hour or so, only leaves a very faint scent. Love the initial burn (if any depending on my shave/razor). For the money, it is a bargain and my 5 and 7 year old sons beg me to use it whenever I shave. Just for clarification, I have other A/S's such as Fine, Old Spice, etc.

  4. I had been going through a bottle or so a week until I was recalibrated. :happy097:

  5. With all due respect, I'm definitely keeping the Bride. :love029: The Clubman just gives us one more thing to laugh about. The truth is that I'll probably use it occasionally -- and sparingly. In all honesty, she's very understanding of my many quirks. :love055:

Having said that, I'm an OFT too. :happy088:

  6. I suppose the same could be said of the old YMCAs, but I'm not wearing THAT fragrance. ;)
  7. Clubman. Too sweet for my taste. The "Veg" ...we won't even go there...:signs136:

  8. I like it and my wife likes it! That's all that matters to me :)
  9. ...AND those are the most important factors. :happy088:
  10. I'm only 33, but I still enjoy it, so I guess I'm an Old Fart In Training as well. My wife didn't have a strong opinion about it either way until I paired it with Stirling Barbershop soap. That's been her favorite combo so far.
  11. I caught my 7 year old putting it on after he took a shower in my bathroom the other night. I was so proud.
  12. That's funny. I like Clubman. My wife can go either way on it. I think it all depends on if she's mad at me or not.

  13. Well, I'm not one to give up on the first try (plus I'm not wrapped too tight), particularly since I identify with some of the characteristics that @HolyRollah attributes to Clubman.

And there's always the appeal of smelling great like @Mr. Shaverman, if I could only learn the secret.

Hey, what's the worst thing that could happen? It's not like I'll get sprayed with a skunk or anything like that. And it's not Arko, so I don't have to eat it. Let me think. :signs002:

Aha! Just don't apply it in large quantity with reckless abondon. As in drops, not buckets. :happy036:

So, thanks to Trey's wise advice, I applied Clubman sparingly after this morning's shave. My Bride loved it. :love029: Thank you, Trey!

The solution to my problem was so obvious that I should have smelled it. I'll now keep my precious juice, but I need a concealed carry permit because it packs so much punch when I wear it. :happy102:

:thanks: for your encouragement, everyone. The thought of not using that luxurious nectar just stunk.

If you don't use this stuff, you're missing out. C'mon, join the Club, man!

    Very fragrantly yours,
    Charlie
  14. It could happen. Just ask @Troy M.

  15. Little bit in the palm, maybe a nickel sized puddle, spread into both palms, works for me. Goes on strong, but within half an hour it dries down to a nice, subtle, barbershop scent. One caution though, if you sweat a lot or otherwise get the area you apply it to wet, it seems to come back to full strength.

  16. I like Clubman Original, pair it with PAA Cad. I am a big fan of anything that reminds me of the old style barber shop smell.
  17. You now need to rename this thread from "Done with Clubman?" to "Not Done with Clubman?" :happy093:
  18. How about "Undone by Clubman"? :D
  19. 1960s Avon Leather. I have both; SR is a semi-distant 2nd. Leather is the collected, concentrated sweat, determination and will of The Duke (minus the lung cancer), Harry Truman circa 1945 and all the Marlboro Men (minus the lung cancer).
  20. Sold! Heading over to the bay now to procure a bottle!
