Hey everyone! Literally just made my purchase a few hours ago. I've been thinking about getting in to DE shaving for some time now. After some online research I had two DE razors in mind the Merkur 23C and the Edwin Jagger DE89 as these two came highly recommended to beginners. In the end I decided on the Edwin Jagger DE89 for no particular reason other then choosing a British made razor over a German made one. Bought a few inexpensive accessories along with it to get me started. Got an Omega Boars hair brush and Omega Eucalyptus Shaving Soap. Hopefully this turns in to a great experience and I can start getting in to more refined products. Let me know what you guys think and thanks for having me!

Welcome to The Shave Den. I must say you look to be off to a good start just as @swarden43 said. We are glad to have ya.
Forgot if you live in the cold a brush warmer will be a great new edition to your den, you will meet many enablers here
to TSD "allicedout" Owning both of those razors let me say on your choice. While for me at least both razors shaved comparably, the 3 piece EJ89 is much more versatile simply because you can change handles on it. IME a handle change can many time make a BIG difference in how your razor handles and the quality of shave you get from it. I'm sure your shave will improve and become more enjoyable using traditional shaving techniques and equipment. I hope you enjoy your stay here.
Welcome. I'm sure you will not regret your decision to try wet shaving. It turns a burden into something fun.
