3/6/2015 Theme Friday - Framed Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO Razor: CV Heljestrand Eskilstuna Sweden, Wade & Butcher Bow straight razor Blade: GEM PTFE coated SE (7) Brush: Turkish #6 Soap: Proraso Red - Sandalwood After: Home made ASB, Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave Cologne: Gravity I could not come up with a decent idea for the Framed theme, so I framed the picture. The #6 whipped up the Proraso into a good lather. The CV and the W&B did their jobs well. The AV brings the chill and protection. The Gravity keeps me smelling good all day. All in all a Darn Fine Shave. Have a blessed day!
Friday's Shave Prep: Hot shower w/ Grandpa's Pine Tar Lather: Kiss My Face Lavender Brush: Omega 13522 Razor: '46-'50 Gillette Heavy Gold Tech Blade: store brand Israeli Personna Post: Witch Hazel, Nivea Sensitive Balm Woke up late so I didn't stop to take a picture. Went with the KMF since I was in a rush and needed something slick and protective in a hurry. Need to make sure I check to make sure the razor cap is screwed in all the way before I start the shave. Was a little loose for the first pass. I think the razor felt more efficient like that. Might need to try something more aggressive. Anyways, a quick 2 pass shave to a CCS and I still managed to somehow make it to work slightly early.
Razor: Gillette Slim (k3) 1965 (5) (3) Brush: Jerusalem Olive Wood/WD Silvertip 24/48 Mug: Old Spice (late glass Mug 04) 1970s -1992 The last OS Mugs Cream: Jack Black cream Blade: Feather (2) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice original Shulton 1980 glass AS (gift from my father in law) The Jersalem Olive Wood/WD is a great soft brush on my face, but with its low set whipped up the JB cream in no time. I really like the slim, the heavy head gaves me a nice smooth shave with no pressure. Just 2 passes WTG XTG on my face, and WTG ATG on my neck with the Slim set at (3). Just have to not over buff my neck, because on 3 the Slim is very mild, even with a Feather. The JB cream gives a nice cushion and complements the JB Post Shave Gel very well. No burn! And the Vintage OS from the 80s tops it off nicely. Y'all have a good one!

SOTD 6 March 2015 - 30 Day Rule! Lots of great photo work this week, gents! I hope everyone has a great weekend!
It's a rather subtle scent. I'm not even sure I could describe it. Maaaaaybe some citrus but it all fades really quickly. It's very much like Provence Sante to me - non-alcohol, faint scent but with great face moisturizing.

Saturday's Col. Conk Bay Rum Shave Soap Jayaruh CH2 Pure Badger GEM 1912 GEM Super Stainless CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Lemon WH Pinaud Clubman This is the fourth shave in the hospital: same setup. The Col. Conk Bay Rum Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh CH2 Pure Badger Travel Brush. Two passes with my GEM 1912 SE razor and a GEM Super Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

For Saturday morning: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/SuperMax Blue day 6 Synergy Frost_byte SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash Fahrenheit EdT This is so funny - my wife opened the container of my Frost_byte soap, sniffed it, and started sneezing, then she said to me, "Babe, how can you shave with something that smells so strong?" My answer to her was, "Because I love it!" Yes, I'll admit that this soap has a strong eucalyptus/peppermint/menthol scent but I actually find it to be very pleasant now, and the lather builds so easily. As I've also stated, the menthol sensation is so powerful that it ranks a close second to my Glacial soaps. The Gold Bond moisturizer can almost be considered to be a face-freezer, and the Penguin is very well-named because it's so cold. Today's shave was really BBS, so let's see how I do tomorrow. Have a great weekend, folks!
