1. March 7 Plans

    Stirling Sheep soap
    Merkur 37C slant bar
    Feather blade (day 1)
    Ever-Ready C40 boar
Stirling Naked and Smooth soap & D.R. Harris Almond cream
    Two passes
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, Pinaud Clubman

I am really enjoying this set up overall. I find the Stirling soap a bit difficult to lather. I loaded the brush for three minutes today, and that helped. My Ever-Ready boar brush is starting to break in, but the knot is too narrow for my liking. I ordered an Omega 10098 this week, and I think I'll like the larger handle and knot.

    Enjoy your weekend!

    VI Friday MMXV Shave

    Time framed in Time!

  3. That sir, is a great shot! How did you get the "wallpaper" on the table? Nice composition with the clock on the brush. Very cool! Also thanks for not showing the contents of the soap container.
  4. Thanks! I appreciate the complement.

This is specialty art paper simply pinned with rolled tape underneath.

When I took this I quickly became concerned that this one will be hard for me to exceed in the future.
  5. Great picture! :eatdrink047:
Bama Samurai, Llyr, clint64 and 2 others like this.
  6. One more thing. That Alan Parsons project video about "Time" and to the sea. I had today, just converted my underwater slides over to disk, from the 80s. Brought back a lot of great memories. And I spent 2 weeks riding those Mantra Rays in 86, 200 miles off the coast of Cabo. Time................

  8. The song came to mind when I was posting and the Jules Verne theme of that video matches well to the "Steampunked" imagery of the SOTD.
  9. March Focus - Vintage and Carbon
    March 6, 2015 - Week 1 Day 6
Prep - Hot shower and towel
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
    Soap - Arko
Razor - Gillete New Long Comb
    Blade - [IMG](2)
Post - RazoRock Alum & The Mighty Veg

Second and last day for this dog of a blade. Hate it. Not only was it fairly rough today it left two nice nicks on my neck and my technique was solid. Just not a blade I'm going to use again. If it works for you then awesome. I did manage a DFS on three passes but that was the only positive. The alum absolutely raged today even where I didn't have the nicks. So much for the Lord Platinum.

One more day before changing to the Aristocrat and another carbon blade. I think I'll just toss a Voskhod in the New tomorrow. I still have a blade open from my Russian Roulette shave with only one use on it.

Another early start and late finish. Welcome to my Thursday and Friday bell to bell days. I'm ready for Sunday when I can catch up around here. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

At least today's shave ended well with my favorite after shave at the moment.

  11. Absolutely "Knocked Me Out".....Perfect, on so many levels....You continue to amaze...I also loved your putting music to it....and I dig your choice.....I'm inclosing a video only because, when I first saw your Photo, for some reason I thought of this tune...So I thought I'd share....But then after listening to your selection it fits perfectly...
But honestly...before I heard your video...this tune popped into my head, and I haven't heard this tune in many years....
  12. Any shave that ends with the "Veg" is a fine shave indeed....Just seeing this bottle has inspired me to run upstairs for a late night shave and Veg Splash...Thanks!
