Never used an Ikon OC head but it is slightly less than a FaTip OC. I would say a Slim Adjustable on 7 or 8 if that helps. Nice deal on the scrap wood pieces. I'm sure there will be some large enough to use for many handles. I know what you mean about the large knots; I have a 28MM Silvertip (extra stuffed) in Rosewood that is a major lather hog!
3/11/2015 Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO Razor: Cobra Classic, Hamburg Concave Quick Cutter straight razor Blade: Kai Captain Mild (6) Brush: Turkish #6 Soap: Spieck After: Home made ASB, Spieck after shave Cologne: Prada - Amber Pour Homme Intense Finally the temperature is warming up. The #6 whipped up the Spieck into a super thick and slick lather. The Cobra and the Quick Cutter did their assigned jobs without a problem. The Spieck AS was cool and comforting. The Prada will have me smelling great for the rest of the day. All in all another Darn Fine Shave + this morning. Have a blessed day!
Haha sorry, because English is not my first nor second language I have some trouble interpreting things like this haha=P
Tabac Soap 66 Slim Simpson Special It was a pretty good shave but i was on the 8th day of my Feather blade so right now the beard is a little rougher than usual.

If I try to shave with contacts in, I have to wear readers to see my face in the mirror. If I wear my spectacles, they get fogged up. Although, tilting my head back to use the bifocal area would stretch the neck a bit more than normal. Hmmm...
SoTD for Tuesday, March 10, or, remember when I wasn't sore all the time? Pre- BBC oil Soap- Pre de Provence Brush- Victoria Razor- ever ready 1914 Blade- vintage Gem Super Stainless Rinse- Osage Aftershave- Fine Vetiver Balm- Kiehl's Cologne- penguin So, 11 days into March, my daily driver setup is holding strong. I really love all these products. Unfortunately,I am not doing super well on my Vie to post every day. This day's shave is merely late. Tuesday is a gym day. And my trainer apparently wants me to be in pain forever. So the fast that the shave took place at all is going in the win column. However my SoTD from Sunday has vanished into the ether. Nothing interesting to report. This is the first SoTD appearance for this Victoria brush. It's boar. I like it. The 1914 is really moving up in my regards. Getting good, 2.5 pass bbs shaves, which is what I set as the ideal. So that is good. Man this setup is great, but so boring.
SoTD. Wednesday, March 11. Or, wait! A new fact! Pre- BBC oil Soap- Pre de Provence Razor- 1914 Blade- gem, vintage Super Stainless Rinse- Osage Aftershave- Fine Vetiver Balm- Kiehl's Cologne- penguin So, 11 days into what may turn out to be an exceptionally short month, I have an interesting fact. I just realized this morning, that I have been using the same blade for this razor since the end of February... I haven't shaved every day. And once I used a different blade and 1914 combo... So maybe 10 shaves on this guy since about Feb 27. And rather than declining quality, it seems to be getting better! It is a vintage Gem Super Stainless. It came in the still in use style of dispenser, packed with a Gem Contour. I usually don't make much effort to squeeze shaves out of a blade. A good shave is worth more to me than the price of a blade, so I usually only use them once or twice. Plus that allows me to continually buy blades, which I enjoy. But I love these blades, and I keep trying and failing to buy more. I keep buying NOS, super stainless gem blades of various vintages, but while excellent, they are not these particular blades. These blades have the words 'Super Stainless' printed above the edge. And they may be exactly the same as the rest of the blades I have bought, but those printed words have taken on white whale status. I won't rest until I find more. And unfortunately, I only have three left. If you have some, or find some, I assure you that contrary to my raving, you will not like them at all. Don't even try them. Just drop me a message, and I will dispose of them for you. Also, Vie Long brushes rule!
SOTD 3/11/15 Hot Shower Nivea Energy Face Scrub Proraso Shaving Soap Pot Sandalwood Perfecto Pure Badger Brush Gillette Slim G4 Rapira Platinum Lux Every Man Jack Face Lotion and Post-Shave Sandalwood So the highlight of my shave today was trying out the new (to me) Gillette Slim that I picked up on a trade here on TSD. I'm pretty sure I got the better end of the deal. I had two days of growth. I started with the slim set to 1, and after just a couple of strokes I turned it up to 3. I got a really good shave on the first pass and so I thought I'd try something; I turned it back down to 1 for the second pass. Wow, it really worked well. I had always thought of doing a first pass with my Merkur 34c and then a second with my milder Weishi. I had never done that, but with the slim it was easy! I think I will really grow to like this razor once I have some experience with it. My next shave with it I'll start it at 5 and then go from there to see what I like. As for the Proraso, I really like how it lathers and feels while I shave, but I am not a fan of the scent, and with so many other nice creams in my den, I find it less and less appealing. The sandalwood scent of the Every Man Jack however, I like very much. And for a pic... (I hardly ever take them of my SOTD)
Thanks Patrick! No I cannot take credit for that handle; I had a friend of mine make it for me from as sketch I gave him since I didn't have a wood lathe. He did an outstanding job and I filled it with a 28MM TGN Silvertip. This brush is as soft as a pillow when it loaded up with lather; pure delight to use. It is a lather hog though for sure!
I actually didn't need to shave at all today - that M.Peroni is just that effective that I barely had any stubble this morning but well, I shaved anyway Another outstanding shave. Out of the razors I've tested so far during my 1 razor per week effort this one has already climbed to the top when it comes to how I'd rate them! Razor: M.Peroni Blade: Astra SP Brush: L'Occitane Plisson Soap: Cella A/S: Provence Sante
