Hey Neighbor! James from Wolfman is a great person to work with. He modified mine and made the blade gap slightly bigger. I have been shaving with my Mongoose and Progress lately and had enjoyed shaving with my Progress set at 3 not too mild but not too aggressive that perfect feeling where the blade slices of the hair so well that a 2nd pass is barely needed but not too aggressive where you get nicks or weepers. That's where the Wolfman OC is at. First shave this morning with it and was happy with the aggressiveness of it. Beautiful razor, James makes great razors.

    Hope this helps!!!

Thanks so much. I am really looking to add a very nice stainless OC razor to go with the Goose. Did you shave with it before James modified the razor? Sorry to ask so many questions but there is just not a lot of information on these razors since they are so new.

No worries that's why we have the Den for to gather knowledge. I have not shaved with one of his razors til this morning. I had emailed him about the availability and the question of aggressiveness came up and I describe how I like my razors and he suggested a wider blade gap. The regular Open Combs are a tad milder from what I understood.

Another dandy Williams shave. The FS Best brush made a fantastic lather and now I'm ready to go

    Soap - Maggards London Barbershop
    Brush - WD Silvertip 24/50
    Razor - Merkur 34C
    Blade - Ladas (3)
    AS - Pinaud Clubman Vanilla
Couple of new items today. First the soap. The good: Lathered easily and provided good protection. The bad: The smell. At first it was OK, not bad not good but by the third pass I became nauseated by the aroma....it was either hurry up and finish and hopefully not get sick, or wash it off ...I hurried and finished. So sadly, although the performance is good, the scent is not for me...at all. Finished with Clubman vanilla and found it pleasant, very subtle and will make its way in my rotation.
So in all fairness to Maggards, they are still my #1 supplier but won't be buying at least this flavor of soap.

    Friday the 13th SOTD:

Prep - Hot shower with QCS "Vetiver"
Razor - Engelswerk 42 Diamantstahl, full hollow, pointed toe, bone scales
    Brush - Omega 80265 Boar
    Soap - QCS "Queen Charlotte"
    Balm - QCS "Vetiver"
Moustache wax - Honest Amish HD Beard Balm

A 2-pass, WTG/ATG, resulted in another BBS shave. Every razor and/or blade combination I've used with the QCS shave soap has been spectacular so far.

    Frey's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ginger's Garden Grass Stain Menthol Snow
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (6, 7, 8)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman AS splash
Cologne: Le 3e Homme de Caron by Caron

Not QUITE as good a shave today as yesterday; the angle seemed a bit more fiddly and illusive than normal this AM. The lather compensated this to a degree, as I had a genuine Santa beard going on for the third pass, after squeezing the excess lather from my lather-hog Simpson. I got DFS results that produced a couple of hot spots with the application of alum, but no blood from my handiwork.

    SOTD: Friday, March 13
    Soap: Mystic Water Barbershop
    Brush: Simpson 3 "Chubby" Manchurian
    Razor: Feather AS-D2
    Blade: Personna Med Prep (3)
    Aftershave: Floïd Blue
Third shave in a row with the MW product. Lather is less than satisfactory.
I have watched several lather demos on YouTube and have copied the various techniques,
but CANNOT achieve the desired lather. [IMG] BUT I am not giving up. (Celestino [IMG] )
    Tomorrow's another shave.

    Have a great day!
