Found this Speedway razor at my favorite thrift store. After some research, I don't believe the vibrating handle is the original to the Speedway razor head. There are no markings on the handle. Thanks for looking Dave
Most likely, this coming Wednesday. don't work that day and will give me a chance get the shave head cleaned up. Dave
Wow, an antique. Who would have thought. They had just pulled it out of a box from an estate they bought and we all took a wild ass guess of price of $10.00. Dave
Talk about something that looks like a Frankenrazor! When you turn it on you have to yell "It's ALIVE!"
Oh come on, give me a hard one! What you got is a Vibro-Shaver made in Chicago in the 1930's. It's actually not electric but you had to crank it up manually. They come up for sale now and then. Fully functioning and w/ box estimated price is around $40.
Thank you so much, I should have asked you in the first place. Unfortunately no box with this one, I will stop back next week and see if there is one kicking around. Dave
A full set should look something like this: They had a real cutsy tag-line "IT soothes as IT shaves" Can you crank yours up?
Sure does, very soothing sensation. I can only wish that mine looked this good. Is this your razor? Dave
No. Contrary to popular belief I do have some self-control when it comes to razor acquisition It's a really, really neat razor though and that you have a different head on it is not unusual at all as apparently it was rather common to put on whatever head worked the best for you. There are some threads online where people claim that the shaving experience is actually really enhanced by the vibrations. Hmm...next we'll see an entry in the 'Waiting on'-thread by @mrchick if he sees this post (Psst...there's one on ebay....)
