    Tiki Soap Thursday SOTD
    Razor: Gillette '48 Aristocrat
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (D11)
Brush: WW South Western Stripe Synthetic 22mm
    Bowl: Turkish 5” Copper Bowl
Pre Shave Scrub: SPAtopia Dead Sea Scrub
    Pre Shave Balm: Proraso Sensitive
Shave Soap: Tiki Lavender -Rosemary Mint
    Post: Monster Alum Block
    Aftershave: Fine L’Orange Noir

Two test products for tomorrow morning shave. The 22mm Wolf Whiskers Synthetic in a South Western Stripe handle and have to say without even lathering yet that at 52mm loft this synthetic is too soft and splays too much for my liking. My own WW synthetic Renaissance (black\white\gold) handle set at 22 with 50 loft feels denser, splays evenly and feels medium firm on the face. My knot feels a lot nicer at it's 50mm loft setting even though both knots are from same manufacture or distributor from china that WW used for this test run. The Tiki French Style is also a tester and this will be the 2nd time using it. Nice creamy lather and aroma is strong. My take is that it could use some more Lavender as the Rosemary does come through on this and some added mint or more menthol would kick this up a notch. Good thing I have M-Bomb in the cabinet.

Cold rinse, witch hazel, styptic pencil, Cortizone 10, Lab Series Razor Burn Relief Ultra

NOT a good combination of razor, blade, and soap, especially the soap. I've used the MWF several times, and it provides zero protection.

What a shave I had with the Frost_byte soap - today it felt as cold as any of my Glacials, or very close. The Sharp blade's still holding up.

    3/19/2015 Thrifty Thursday!

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Stahly Live Blade, Hamburg Concave Quick Cutter straight razor
Blade: Pol Silver Super Iridium (5)
    Brush: Black Badger
    Soap: Williams Mug Soap
After: Home made ASB, Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave
    Cologne: Aqua H2O

Happy Thursday! I soaked the Williams puck in hot water while I took a shower. I then used some of the soak water for the bowl lathering. The badger whipped up the Williams into a slick lather. The lather was not thick, but it did not do the disappearing trick either. The Stahly and the Quick Cutter did their jobs well. The AV brought some chill and the Aqua H2O will have me smelling good all day. All in all it was a Darn Fine Shave.

    Have a blessed day!

Excellent Ferox (I wish it were) ;) Friday
I'm dealing with a sinus infection and bronchitis, so I can't really smell the soap, but Ferox is a favorite. I think Fine Platinum matches up pretty well, as I've used it in the past. The Beast very easily whipped up yogurty lather to set up my whiskers for their encounter with der Vorschlaghammer. It did not go well for them, but it went great for my face. Smooth and easy.
    Prep: Proraso White
    Soap: B&M Ferox
    Brush: Brothers Bristles Beast Plisson
    Razor: der Vorschlaghammer
    Blade: Voskhod (3)

    Rapira Platinum Lux blade
    slim adjustable

Today was a very nice 3 pass shave with excellent results. No nicks, cuts, weepers, or irritation. I have spent the last couple of months going through a selection of the Russian blades. IMHO, they are all great shavers. I still like the Ladas a little better than the rest, followed by the Voskhod. The others, 3 types of Rapira and the Sputnik, follow closely behind. I would not have been disappointed if I had chosen to use any one of these exclusively.
