I think your picture is great. You should go back and look at some of the pictures I have posted in the past. Almost want to delete them.

I had a similar experience today although not quite as bad as yours. My shave went OK, just one small weeper quickly stopped with the styptic.
The blade just didn't seem 'right' as you would expect from a new blade.
I have a different razor and blade for tomorrow. Blades are cheap so today's blade has been dumped

    (sorry, no picture this morning)

Another great shave with another QCS soap, "Basilica", 3-pass BBS: XTG, ATG, ATG.

Prep - Hot water shower with QCS "Vetiver"
    Razor - Merkur (41C) 1904
Blade - Personna Blue (2nd shave)
    Brush - Omega 80265 Boar
    Soap - QCS "Basilica"
    Balm - QCS "Vetiver"

This is another tallow-based soap from QCS. The scent is a bit more subtle than "Queen Charlotte", lots of mirrh, earthy.

I'll make a comment on the sample packs. If you grate up the soap and press it into a bowl, the 0.25 oz. wedges will last you about a month to a month and a half if you don't go hog wild loading up your brush (i.e., 3 times as much as needed) every time you shave, depending on if you shave every single day.

Thanks for reassuring me that I'm not crazy (although I may still actually be). In retrospect, I should have known better and just stopped.

I enjoy that you posted a pic. Is that the Dreadknought Shaving Cream? What do you think of it?

03/19 – Had to rush a bit to make a dentist appointment and got a nice nick out of it. Post routine did its job and everything cleaned up nicely. Ended up to be a DFS and at least a 4/5 on the :Animatedfrozensmily:scale.

The Palmolive seems to be a no-frills all-performance cream. I enjoy it and glad you did, too.

I had to bust out the styptic today, too! Oh well it happens. The black handle SS I have has chopped me up pretty good. Still need to find a good blade for it maybe.

Agreed. Glad it doesn't smell like Palmolive dish soap. Can't stand the smell of that stuff.

I was using a blade once that was cutting me up like crazy. It turned out to have a slight bend in one of the edges. I check them all out before I use them now. (It was a Voshkod)

Blade was doing great..... Until the doors started to open... All of a sudden it got real aggressive, until I realized what had happened.
