Saturday's Dove Men Face Wash Col. Conk Amber Shaving Soap Frank Shaving Finest Badger GEM MMBT GEM Super Stainless CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Rose Petal WH Aqua Velva This is week three of GEM/ER SE Month. GEM MMBT is up to bat and doing a great job. The Col. Conk Amber Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Frank Shaving Finest Badger Brush. Two passes with my GEM MMBT SE razor and a GEM Super Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
pre: hot towel over lather brush: Semogue 1800 soap: Vreto shaving soap Guava razor: "The Rebar" blade: Sputnik (1) aftershave: Bello Bay Lime Vreto is a local artisan that makes the best soap I ever tried and it has shea butter and lanolin in it. The soap lathers easily in hard water, offers exceptional protection while shaving and stellar postshave, so much that I actually didn't need an aftershave but wanted to complement the tropical scent of guava with some bay rum and lime. Nice combo. The razor is a Maggard/Matador lookalike and does its job very well. Since it has no name or code I dubbed it "The Rebar". Russian blade test is still on and I'm liking the Sputniks a lot.

Saturday morning's planned shave: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Sharp day 6 Italian Palmolive Menthol SC Gold Bond Moisturizer Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS Fahrenheit EdT I want to look my best because my wife and I are going to my cousin's son's Bar Mitzvah and we have to get an early start. My dear friend Ryan inspired me to use the Palmolive Menthol cream, which we both love so much. It has everything I look for - a great scent, awesome lather, it's so cold as well as moisturizing and soothing and not that hard to find. The Gold Bond, together with the Aqua Velva will ensure continued cooling after my shave. So far, so good with the Sharp blade.
Planned Saturday shave.... I didn't shave today due to excess blood loss from yesterday. So, tomorrow's will be the usual setup with a change in creams only. Every man jack shave cream Black handle SS New Gillette SB(1) Refurbished boar brush in clear handle Every man jack post shave balm. Then maybe hit up an antique store
March Focus - Vintage and Carbon March 20, 2015 - Week 3 Day 6 Prep - Hot shower and towel Brush - VDH Boar Soap - Arko Razor - '46-'50 Gillette Tech Blade - (4) Post - RazoRock Alum & Aqua Velva Musk Day four on the Voskhod and it's just as good as day one. I had almost forgotten how much I love this blade. The Tech is almost too mild but I still got DFS with only two passes since I was in a hurry to get to work early. Thursday and Fridays really create a challenge for time. I need to get up a bit earlier I think. Anyway, another great shave. One more to go before going to the final carbon setup for the month. Then it's on to April and something different! Oh, and happy Spring everyone!
Saturday's planned shave: Prep: Hot shower Brush: Omega 80080 Boar Brush Razor: Merkur 34C Soap: The Copper Hat - Island Hopper Blade: Personna Red (1) Post: Alum and Thayers WH Original Hope everyone's going to have a great weekend!
Every time I see a bullet tip I am remembered about the fact that I still don't have one. It's a very attractive design.
If I'd ever buy an Omega brush it'll be either the 10098 or the one, can't remember the name, with nice wooden handle. The 10098's size is very appealing to me.
SATURDAY Evening Shave for Tomorrow My first shave since Tuesday morning—this is what happens when I leave town for a few days and forget my razor. To handle the 'heavy-duty' work, I grabbed the big 7/8 Wostenholm razor, which did the trick. Three smooth passes left my face with near BBS. Have a great Saturday, all!

I ended up BBS but it took more effort today. One more shave with this Sharp blade and in the garbage it goes. The Palmolive Menthol cream felt heavenly - what a nice freezing sensation it gave me.
Razor: Gillette gold toggle (D1) 1958 (5) (3) Brush: e-shave Badger Mug: VDH Cream: Maca Root Blade: Feather (1) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black cooling gel, Tuscany The Maca Root whipped up thick lather, I really like this cream. Great cushion and no preshave needed. The toggle set on 5 as I dropped in a new Feather, checked the alignment and was good to go for my first pass WTG. So far so good, very close on this pass. A little rinse to see how we are doing and relather for a XTG pass on my face and ATG on 3 for my neck. Some more lather for touch up on my neck and we are done. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some Jack Black AS gel, then some Tuscany and all is good. Another DFS for my toggle. The extra weight and the great balance of the toggle make it very easy to just let the razor do the work, and enjoy the ride. I love this razor! Great way to ride into Spring! This razor reminds me of the Golden gun in the 007 movie. Check out the link.
