Today I had one of the smoothest shaves ever! I had to look at the razor to make sure it was loaded,not only was it smooth but it was close as well,face and dome BBS! The Kai blade was a perfect match for this razor.

3 passes were not that smooth with this razor/blade combo but the results are a DFS anyway. TGN synthetic in the Burma Shave handle made a great face lather today - I may give up soaking the real hair brushes and just use this one for a while. The aftershave is some I traded Eric @Shotwell for because his wife didn't like it. Turns out that my wife does, so that means that I do.

Great 3 pass shave this morning. Really liking this injector.

I've got 16 soaps and creams that I have in rotation. So each soap/cream gets about two uses each month. I really like using a different soap every day. I am also working through my 40 razors, giving them 7-10 days each. I even made a chart so as not to leave any out. So by years end, every razor will have gotten some lovin'.

If you couldn't finish your shave with Tundra you will not even finish lathering up the Glacial Obsidian.

The Perma-Sharps continue their sterling work. Probably the best shave I've had with the Fatboy, so smooth and effortless. These are definitely staying in my rotation from now on. The St.Petersburg plant certainly knows how to make very sharp and very comfortable blades.

Tomorrow is March 24, so I will be breaking out the ER 1914 for its birthday shave. Then, it goes back on the shelf.


It has a huge blade exposure and the gap is big as well. It is way too aggressive for a daily shaver.

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Gillette Senator, Friodur Inox straight razor
Blade: Astra SP (2)
Brush: Turkish #6
Soap: Stirling - Frozen Tundra
After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave
Cologne: 007

I had a nice and cold shave this morning. The #6 brush whipped up the Frozen Tundra into a slick lather. The Senator and the Inox did their jobs well. The Osage Rub brought the arctic chill and the 007 will have me smelling good all day. All things considered it was a Darn Fine Shave +.

Although I never tried the Frozen Tundra, Rod says it's MUCH, MUCH colder. The only other soap which I find gives me the same sensation is the Shaving Yeti's Yeti Snot. Even so, the Glacial soaps are somewhat more strongly-mentholated.
