MILD! Gave me a DFS on two passes. I did't want to push it. OK, but not for me. I'm more of a Super Speed & Slantguy.

Even tho Joris and FaTip look similiar, there are differences.I found that Joris is a smoother shave than FaTip,also blade selection plays a important part. You would think that a aggressive razor would be smoother, but most of the times that's not the case.Look at the R41,a great razor, but it can be a beast, you know you're shaving with these razors.I find that the milder razors are usually the smoothest shaves.I had to look at my Gold Tech yesterday to make sure it had a blade in it,it was that smooth.Today the Joris was pretty smooth, but I didn't need to check for a blade,I could feel it.
Second day of using my Gillette Black Beauty this week. Good, solid shave. Granted it wasn't a spectacular shave or even an exciting shave - but it did result in a great clean-shave with no need for touch-up passes. I still, for some reason, see it as more mild than the Slim. Razor: Gillette Black Beauty, gold plated Blade: Rapira Brush: L'Occitane Plisson Soap: Arko in vintage tin tube A/S: The Veg

March Focus - Vintage and Carbon March 24, 2015 - Week 4 Day 3 Prep - Hot shower and towel Brush - Omega Pro 48 Soap - Proraso Green Razor - 1918 Old Style Gillette Blade - (3) Post - RazoRock Alum and Aqua Velva Musk Third day on the Classic and it was still a good shave. Beginning to show a little drag, though, so this is the last day for it. No weepers or other issues today, three pass DFS but not quite as close to BBS as day two. I checked the blade pre-shave and didn't notice an excess of rust. Apparently this blade just has three shaves in it. My experience with the carbons this month has shown that three is about all you can drag out of them, well all that I can anyway. YMMV. Of the four tried the Black Beauty and the Classic are my top two pics. The Durasharp and Silver lacked a bit in comparison. I'll spend the next week working with different blades that I haven't tried yet. But as for the carbons................

Tobacco Tuesday! I paired the Ikon SC 102 with a fresh Platinum Lux, and did my best to whip up a stable lather with the mystery RED soap. That's right, the crew is back at it again and looking forward to providing some great info and reviews for the Den. Take care and have a good one gents.
