Finally had a free afternoon to myself on the weekend and after sorting through some old pieces of timber, I found a small burl begging to become a brush handle. During the rough turning stage I stumbled across a very simple shape and thought this looks promising and so I decided to extend the overall length to accommodate my thumb & hand alike. The finished shape does a good job of keeping my fingers out of the bowls lather and also providing an excellent grip while face lathering. Over all quite happy with this one.
That is beautiful. I wish I was handy because I so badly want a nice badger brush with a 48 to 52 loft, but with a bigger handle for my large mitts. It also looks great, my wife might not even mind another addition to bathroom if it looked like that. Nice work.
Rusty That is a fine looking brush. As they call a Rolex Superlative Time piece. You could classify your brush as being a Superlative piece of work. That is one beautiful brush.
Excellent Work. I really like the shape of the handle and the grain of the wood makes everything pop.
Thank you gentlemen for the kind comments and encouragement they are very much appreciated. To the DIY'S out there have a go at this handle shape, it really fits the hand well and to anyone else if you are interested PM me and perhaps I can help out.
