The shipping from Bestshave Turkey was pretty quick to Australia so I now have a Horse hair #6. Yes I've read the multiple threads about the type of hair it may or may not be. I'll assume it is Horse. I gave it a vinegar soak and shampoo and any other cleansing routine and it still smelt "interesting". The handle is made well the compactness of the hair is good and it loves Arko. It made a beautiful bowl of lather in no time flat. Shipping to me was almost double the cost of the brush but I think on first impressions it is great value.
I wasn't there when the hair was collected so it is a Horse hair brush to me. :)

Yes Jim very similar. The handle is is straight but everything else looks the same. The hair is darker though.

Ah well must not have happened then :)
I will have to work out how to post images, can't have doubts about Arko, a $2.85 brush and my lathering ability.

:) I know no pictures etc ---- but I used the little Turk this morning for my shave and it is wonderful. I used it as a bowl lather with Arko. If it is still like this in a fortnight I will need to order another couple. Just in case. My other brushes will be dried out completely and stored for quite some time.

I have one and it's a great brush. It's a great performer and you can not find a better value IMHO.

I was ver7y curious to know what people thought of this brush as my first purchase was a vier-long....I may have to give this a try.

I have used mine exclusively since it arrived and it is just getting better and better. The ends of mine are starting to split. I checked on a horse forum and it does seem horse mane and tail will split. Also I do have a Proraso boar hair brush that has been used a lot but the ends aren't splitting.

I have 2 (real) Horse hair brushes from Vie-Long
One is 65/35 and the other is 50/50 but i saw no spit in both of them.
The only thing that occurred was the "bird's nest" phenomenon as they call it in shaving forums,i call it "the grenade effect".
