Great looking Brush, did you refurbish the knot or is it the Original knot?
I have a Rubberset 49-4 also. It was my Uncles, I think If I just clean it up a little it might make a great addition to my rotation.

 

It is a re-knot. Actually the 2nd brush that I attempted a restore over two years ago. You should clean up your Rubberset 49-4 as they are a mighty fine looking brush and if you are looking for a knot I could make a recommendation on the knot.

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard). I will also Face Lather again tomorrow, I will wipe face off with Ice Cold Wet Wash Cloth. I will be shaving with Cold Water. Hopefully it will result in another DFS-BBS, with "No Nicks or Weepers".

 

I agree with you on the Proraso AS. I rank it in my top 3 non bay rum aftershaves.

 

I witnessed 30 straight days of rain there while attending College back in the 80's.

 

My Tabac AS should be waiting for me at the post office, in which case I'll be able to mimic your Tabac Tuesday next week.

 

I really dig that brush Troy. I need to hunt one down.

This will be only the second time since November that I'll be shaving two days growth (oddly enough, only shaved every other day for 35+yrs before DE). It will also be the first time ever, holding a DE in my left hand (I used a Braun electric after shoulder surgery 10 yrs ago)......glad Ive got all day to accomplish this feat.

 

Yes, I like the feel as it is a solid brass handle.

I enjoyed my shave with the Gada Cool Mint cream very much. This stuff is not only very cooling, its skincare is fantastic.

 

Comeback Wednesday
After yesterday's poor shave I was looking forward to improvement. I only did one pass on my neck, and that helped a great deal. Ferox is one of my favorite soaps both because of the scent and skin care. The earthy peppery grapefruit is a delicious pleasure for my nose, while the tea tree lanolin and other ingredients treat my face to smooth clear skin with no redness or irritation. My New LC is my favorite open comb so far as it rarely bites and is efficient enough for a long lasting shave. Gondolier is a classy cologne type scent. I used both the splash and balm today for the extra care my neck needed. Both are excellent products.

today's shave was nice. the old Ever-Ready ain't pretty, ain't the softest, but I like it. used the modified endurance, I'm pretty happy with it. it smelled of old spice to me. three passes with the fatboy. very nice shave. finished with old spice after shave.
hope y'all did as well, or better.

 

"Good" for me is relative. The problem is a combination of me and the Fatboy. I still have issues with the adjustable razors. Plus, I'm new to face lathering, so I didn't get the usual rich lather I do with C.O.B.

Youll see with today's post thar I had a rather nice shave. And, may I add, thanks for noticing. I can't believe anyone pays that much attention to these posts. I usually just look at the pretty pictures and covet my neighbors razors and brushes.

Cold water rinse, Sterling Glacial Wintergreen Splash, Lab Series Razor Burn Ultra Relief

Nice shave. The Aristocrat and the Voskhod pair very nicely together. The glycerine made all the difference with the Nivea. Today's lather rivaled any other I've whipped up in thickness, protection, and glide.
