Is the R-1 head mild? I'm thinking about adding another ATT head to my den, have the S1. Thanks.

This brush was re-knotted by @MoAllen and I received it from a PIF. I see the Burma-Shave brush in a couple of our old drugstores in town for around $5

I have been using a Fatboy off and on for about 2 years now. I have never gotten the shave from a Fatboy that I can always get from a Slim Adjustable.

And, yes, some people do read these posts.

    Odin's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ginger's Garden Grass Stain Menthol Snow
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (4, 5, 6)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman AS splash
    Cologne: Velvet Mood (sample)

I'm required to attend an awards function tonight, so skipping yesterday's shave was to enable today's to get that little bit closer and smoother. It worked, as between the good lather, the smooth Bic, and the mild 41C, I got 3 comfortable passes in for a DFS+ shave that left me with no weepers or irritation. The Velvet Mood + Pinaud Clubman combo should be both pleasant and inoffensive enough by the time the awards function rolls around.

Post - Alum & The Veg

Trying a couple of blades through the end of the month starting with the Super-Max Platinum from Vidyut in India. I ranked the Super Platinum as the top blade in February's blade trials so was curious about the Platinum. I pulled the EJ89l out and loaded up. Very nice, comfortable shave with very little irritation as proved by the very quiet alum. Just a bit of sting where I buffed a bit on my neck. Otherwise this blade seems to perform at the same level as its "super" cousin. I have read that the difference between most blades in their normal and super versions is mainly marketing, and I tend to believe it. I'm a salesman.....I could explain how much superior the "super" is until you pay three times the price for it, but it's a lot of smoke and mirrors.
