Is it just me or is the Merkur Futur and Vision UGLY

I used to think they looked hideous...but for some reason I ended up changing my mind and if there's ever a Vision 2000 on the cheap I would be very tempted to pick it up

 

To the OP:
They're different, no doubt. The designs are avant-garde, however
If someone gave me either one of those razors, I would keep it.

 

I would certainly take one as a gift, too.

 

I wonder if you think the Lamborghini Aventador looks ugly too, haha. I just think that they both look futuristic and exotic like most European supercars and hypercars are supposed to look. It's like the Bugatti Veyron of DE razors. Absolutely massive, 1000 hp, Way too many cylinders, way too much curb weight, but worth the price tag for its level of awesomeness.

 

Futur doesn't bother me, although I would prefer it in the satin finish. I actually really want to try one as I like an aggressive razor.

To me the Vision looks like something one would use to shave a poodle.

 

It's great in the satin finish; not slippery, efficient as always and nice to look at.

 

I was pretty intrigued when i first saw a Futur. I like it. Slick design, it looks clean. Vision is a little too bulky, i don't like it too much.

It may not appeal to those who like the 'vintage' look of an old Gillette, but as far as clean, simple modern design aesthetic, I find it both functional in design and visually appealing.

 

The OP hasn't been seen since last summer.

I've never tried one but I too don't like their design. I have too many razors to even consider one of these. Who knows, I may be missing out but I'm perfectly content with the 10+ razors that I have................

The Futur is definately aggressive. First shave with mine today and I started with it set on 4 and found it too much. At 2.5 it was perfect. I could easily have gotten away with one pass.

I actually pulled off a one pass decent shave this morning with the futur. This razor is well balanced and a pleasure to shave with.

I have both and love the industrial futuristic look of the Futur. I like agressive and heavy razors and the Futur is one of my favorites. The Vision is not in the same leauge of agressiveness as the Futur and it is a monster of a razor in terms of size.

I'm not nostalgic about shaving and not into vintage razors, maybe that is why I think the Futur is a good looking razor. Now vimtage straights on the other do look cool too.
