Thanks @JR Reyes for the loan of 4 GEM Razors to test drive. I stopped by CVS Pharmacy on the way home last night and picked up some blades. Placed an order for some PETE GEM blades for the upcoming shaves. I shaved with a GEM Feather Weight for this mornings shave. A very good 3 pass shave this morning. The angle was very easy to find and I was happy with the resulting shave. I did have a problem getting close enough above my lip and the point of the chin. Reached for the Mongoose to clean up those areas. I sure these areas will get better as I get used to the GEM razors.

    Rasatura di Giovedi.

Another day with QCS, another BBS shave: poverty 2-pass: ATG and XTG. These soaps lather so luxuriously, a face lather can actually generate suction between the brush and my face. Maybe i've been doing something wrong, but i not experienced this previously.
I prepped my beard in the shower with a "shampoo bar" (tallow) soap since I wanted to try it on my beard and it smelled and felt great pre- and post shave, but I was in a rush, I had a few weepers.

Prep - Hot shower with QCS "Peppermint Eucalyptus"
    Razor - Bonsa Wiener
    Brush - Omega 80265 Boar
    Soap - QCS "Basilica"
    Balm - QCS "Vetiver"

does the Latoja creme give as great a shave as the Latoja stick?
a proper question would be, have you used the stick, and how does it compare?

Great shave last night. DFS bordering on BBS.

    The gear.
    -Stephan stay smooth brushless cream.
-Feather popular razor for two passes, gillette 7 o'clock sterling for touch up.
    -Feather blade.
    -Gabel's bay rum aftershave
-A little aveeno unscented aftershave lotion.

The feather razor gave me a close comfortable shave, the gillette took it on to a DFS.

I generally like mild razors and can get very good results from them, however the feather popular is the one mild razor that seems to be too mild for my taste. I can get a close comfortable shave from it but not much better than that.

The gillette sterling doesn't feel as smooth as some razors, it looks and feels pretty cheap, but I get good results with it.

SoTD for Thursday, March 26, or, brushing up...

    Pre-BBC oil
    Soap- Pre de Provence
Brush- vulfix, streets of London 'the strand'
    Razor- schick F
    Blade- krona chrome vintage
    Rinse- Osage
    Aftershave- Fine Vetiver
    Balm- Kiehl's
    Cologne- Ho Hang Club

The Schick F continues to be great. I find myself going quite fast with it. I had to make myself slow down a couple times this morning. Today the brush is a Vulfix. It is a Strand, from the Streets of London series. This is yet another finalist in my 'brushes that look and feel vintage, yet are new' search. Like the Semogue SOC, this is a brush that impressed me greatly. For the price, I genuinely feel that this is a top tier brush. I would not hesitate to pick up another Vulfix brush. I was pretty proud that I had reigned in my reckless spending on razors... and then I decided to pick up a brush. Just one. Now I have a brush problem! What is it with this crazy shaving lifestyle that compels us to accumulate so much stuff??

    Neutrogena shave cream
    Black badger brush
    Merkur 34c HD
    Astra SP(1)
    Every Man Jack post shave

Finally used up the Neutrogena cream...
I was itching to try the Astra blade so I loaded up the 34c. I like to use my 34c when I first try a blade since I know it does a good job. I don't think I've had a bad shave with it no matter what blade I've used in it(even dorco), only have had better shaves. Today was a better shave. I could have stopped with one pass if I was in a hurry and had somewhere to go. I did two passes. Only two nicks that were my fault, no one else to blame. I have found that no matter how good and smooth a shave goes, the EMJ post shave stings ever so slightly.

I'm happy to be finally moving through my trial packs of blades and such so I can narrow down my choices and buy a 100pack. I still need to try my personnas though. And try the Astra SP and Gillette SB in two more razors to know for sure.

Anyway.... Another great shave and have a great day.

    Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Bulldog Original face wash, sandalwood bar soap

Soap/cream- The shave den Lemongrass lanolin shaving soap 1xmenthol

    Brush- Whipped dog 24mm silvertip

    Razor- Merkur 37c

    Blade- Rapira super stainless

Post- Cold water rinse, Aqua Velva Ice blue aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive aftershave balm

Very nice shave with the Rapira, if it shaves like this on the second shave and if the rest of the package is as good as this one then I might have found a new blade. It gave me a smooth shave, I need to use it a few more times before I say more. I need to pay extra attention for if it tugs =)

Great shave with the Merkur and MAAAAAN I LOVE AQUA VELVA amazing aftershave. Good scent, nice menthol feeling not to overpowering and a good alcohol content.

The TSD soap is very very nice, thanks again @RaZorBurn123. The menthol is perfect, it's easily stronger than proraso, but exactly what I wanted =) Great scent on that Lemongrass. As Kerry says, "Go out and get it!"

All in an, good to great shave =D

Today was the Maiden Voyage of my new Oscar11 brush. After a week of breaking in, this Blue & White Boar was up to the task at hand. Whipping up a mountain of lather in seconds. With a Knot set at 28, a Loft of 55mm and a Handle of 78mm it's a perfect fit for my big mitts. Thanks Steve! :happy096:

    Brush: Whipped Dog 30/45 Silvertip
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
    Cream: TOBS Coconut cream
    Blade: Feather (1)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Nivea Men Post Shave Balm, TOBS Luxury AS
Whipped up a thumb nail size dollop of the TOBS in my favorite mug with my favorite brush. My favorite daily driver the FB is hard to put away for another razor, because it shaves me so well. It's weight does all the work. WTG XTG on my face and neck on 5. ATG on my neck on 3. Nice and slick and with my FB on 3 for my neck I can buff a little on the hard to get to spots for a very nice smooth shave. Great cucumber smell with the WH, and then some soothing Nivea. After cleanup some nice TOBS AS for a change of pace. Listening to a lot of vintage music this week, in my way back machine. This is a great Stevie Nicks live from 1981. Back in the day of big hair. Have a good one y'all.
