I had both my hips replaced about 6yrs ago, 6 months apart, and I could not be happier with the results. I jet ski and water ski in Dustin every summer with the family, and I don't even think about them anymore. Except going through the checkpoints at the airport. Just stick to the rehab, and it will be great.

If there's a Krystal or Shoe Show on the way to the lanes, then you're safe.

Thank you for the encouraging words. I do not yet know if I will need knee replacement or a simpler arthroscopic procedure. I had arthroscopic surgery on the other knee and (while it is still arthritic) it is better for having done it.

Today has been a very difficult day. I was going through papers and such and I found a picture of my mother when she was in high school. Even typing this is hard. It's been just over a month and I miss her dearly. My moms 87th birthday would have been this Easter April 5. Thanks. K

I really don't know what to say to make you feel better. Although I haven't lost a parent losing any loved ones is hard. Watching my dad lose his parents within a year of each other was especially tough. Remember all the good times and even though she might not physically be here she will always be with you. Sorry I'm not good with words but trust me I do feel for you.

Krystal is a very cheap hamburger restaurant most prevalent in the southern US. It's akin to White Castle restaurants, which are primarily in the northern US.
I've not heard of Shoe Show.

Reading your post touched me. This upcoming April 15th will be 8 years ago that I lost my Dad. There has not been a day that I have not thought of him. In the beginning those thoughts were filled with the sense of loss. I still have those feelings but more often the thoughts are of fond memories. I know the sense of loss will always be with me to a degree. But I've also come to realize that he is still here in the values and ethics he taught me. I've tried to pass those on to my girls. I know he would be proud of that. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Just found out that a local barbershop carries Wet Shaving supplies! Not sure if the selection is that good but the Proprietor told me they sell Razors, Brushes, Soap, and Blades. I need to scout it out. Hopefully the inventory will grow as more people discover/rediscover wet shaving.

I had a great couple of days. Yesterday I had an archery lesson. From there, I drove out to see an old friend I hadn't seen in a couple of years. (Unfortunately, the last couple of years were trying for her, as she is now divorcing.) So I understand why she let communication lapse for a bit.

But she invited me to stay over & it was great. We caught up, made pizza, explored her new neighborhood, etc. Plus, I got to spend some time with her sons, who I love; they are great boys.

Hi folks..it's good to be posting again. Have had an incredibly hectic few weeks. Between the moving and the desk top deciding to go so south at the same time, I thought I'd never get back on line. Geez it sure was easier to move 30 years ago. Anyways it's done and I'm happy to see you all again...

Yesterday we actually pulled off the miraculous feat of scheduling three Dentist appointments on the same day, and within 30 minutes of each other. Decided that since it was Spring Break for my little one, I'd take the rest of the day off for a Daddy-Daughter day. Got some late Breakfast, spent two hours at Toys R Us, went looking for some new soccer gear for her, bought her a movie she's been wanting since she did so well in school lately, got frozen yogurt, then got my Wife from work.

Not a bad way to spend a day...
