April Fools SOTDI thought more people would have a little fun with today's set-up....but oh well. Here we go.... I pulled out my custom DE with my vintage Gillette blade on shave 512 (still going strong), I'm a sucker for a good Tallow and Lanolin soap, so I decided to mix up a homemade batch and talk about super slick and amazing post shave feel. I finished it off with a few sprays of my trusty Lysol, because it kills over 99.9% of viruses and bacteria. The crisp linen scent is still going strong. Hope you guys enjoy....have a good one gents.
it's very nice, paired with bombed br soap, and mentholated vi. seems like the scent lasts longer, and I like the cooling sensation. ICED Florida water with lime soap/ creme is also a favorite of mine. fyi, I got the menthol crystals from the shave den shop.
Third day with the Lersche #51. Another good - but maybe not earthshatteringly good - shave - I think I started out with somewhat unrealistic expectations Razor: Leresche #51 Blade: Rapira Brush: L'Occitane Plisson Soap: Arko A/S: Anherb
April 1 Stirling Sheep facial soap Merkur 37C slant bar razor Feather blade (day 1) Kent BK8 silvertip badger brush Arko shave soap Two passes Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, & unrefined shea butter I had a great shave this morning before work, and I hope you all did as well. We enjoyed a beautiful day here with plenty of sunshine and temps in the low 70s. Grace and Peace!
Economical Shave, Wednesday morning Brush: Semogue 1305 Boar Razor: Vander Hagen ($5 Cl find) Blade: 7 O'clock (from PIF) Soap: Vander Hagen homemade shave stick (http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/van-der-hagen-deluxe-shaving-soap-review.42362/page-4) Aftershave: Barbasol Brisk. Really like the VanDerHagen stick. Really a great lather for 3+ passes. I have been really impressed with the tallow based soaps, but for a glycerin soap: I'm impressed. Besides the added fragrance oil makes this really smell great! To bad I forgot to add some "chill" to it.
This will be my set-up for Thursday: L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Sharp day 4 Bozzano Sensitive SC Lubriderm Unscented Moisturizer Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS Givenchy Gentleman EdT For tomorrow my shaving journey will take me to Brazil in my mind, so I could get richly-lathered with the Bozzano Sensitive cream which smells of eucalyptus and menthol. The cream has a pleasant cooling sensation, with excellent post-shave care. The next leg on the journey is back to Montreal, I guess (possibly Toronto!) for the Lubriderm moisturizer which is very soothing. Next, I'll be off to White Plains, NY for a couple of chilly splashes of the Aqua Velva, and finally it's off to Paris for the Givenchy Gentleman eau de toilette, which is a favourite fragrance of mine. This is one scent which even Madame enjoys smelling on me. Oh, I forgot to mention that this voyage of mine includes Istanbul where my Horsehair brush is from!
