04/03/15 Prep – MR GLO Razor – GEM 1912 Blade – GEM SS Coated Brush – Rubberset 400 with Omega Boar Lather – Strop Shoppe Baker Street Post - Witch Hazel and Dove AS Balm @JR Reyes was kind enough to let me test drive some GEM razors. I didn't want to abuse his kindness by keeping the razors to long so today's shave I used the GEM 1912 with GEM SS coated blades. The Strop Shoppe soap whipped up a great slick lather which helped with a fantastic 3 pass shave. Not BBS but pretty close. I do have problems with the GEM razors above my lip so I cheated and used a Schick Injector in that area. I will add that I like the SS coated blades much better than the carbon blades.
Today I managed to kick the Menthol Monkey on my back. Instead of menthol, I went with PS mixed with TOBS Rose. This is an excellent combo in terms of both scent and smoothness. Provence Sante W/ TOBS Rose Rapira Stainless blade Slim Adjustable
Phil did a wonderful job on the brush! I have Barber Shop and Hungarian Lavender, I like them both equally.
GOOD FRIDAY Early morning shave, prepping for a busy day ahead! Lovely shave with the Bresnick and I'm thoroughly enjoying using the Oscar11 boar brush! Have a blessed Friday, everyone!
Friday's Shave Prep: Hot shower w/ Grandpa's Pine Tar Lather: Arko Brush: Omega 13522 Razor: '46-'50 Gillette Heavy Gold Tech Blade: Sputnik Post: Nivea Sensitive Balm Scent: Tommy Bahama Very Cool Full 3 pass shave today. The Sputnik blade in the Tech did well, although I still have ATG issues. I might need to try extra prep on days I go ATG. Or maybe I was still rushed and don't have my ATG technique dialed in yet.

Razor: Gillette New LC Bar Handle 1930s Brush: Vintage Every-Ready 675 badger Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue Cream: TOBS Grapefruit cream Blade: Feather (2) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice original Shulton 1973 - 1975 Blue Ship Decanter AS Back with the Gillette New LC again, and I'm looking forward to another good shave with it. Loaded a Feather blade, and checked the alignment. Looks good and I'm really liking the longer comb. The Ever-Ready badger whipped up a thick warm lather in the OS Mug. Nice grapefruit scent from the TOBS. First pass was very close, and the razor sang a nice tune to let me know how it was going. Very nice two pass shave with some touchup on my trouble spot on my neck. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some JB balm. Finished up with some Vintage Shulton Old Spice. Very nice razor, great feedback and always Dreaming of a that perfect shave.
