Saturday's Dove Men Face Wash Arko Stick Semogue 1305 Boar Brush Gillette Fatboy F2 Sputnik Stainless CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Lemon WH Pinaud Vegetal The Arko Stick Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Semogue 1305 Boar HMB Brush. Two passes with my Gillette Fatboy razor and a Sputnik Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Vegetal after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
I believe you. That soap is like liquid nitrogen on the skin. I nearly did my brother-in-law in one morning.
For Saturday morning: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Sharp day 6 Stirling Glacial Lavender SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash Aramis EdT My wife said to me before "Jeff, baby that's enough menthol to make a polar bear want to move to Miami!" and she's so right. The Glacial Lavender soap hits you with its frigid power on contact, and gets stronger and stronger while it's on your face. Its lather is so rich and slick as well as fragrant with the wonderful lavender scent which Rod worked so hard on to create. Another thing I love about this soap is the blade glide you get while you're shaving, and the comfortable post-shave sensation you get. If you're the type who has sensitive skin, I highly recommend the Gold Bond moisturizer because it's so cooling and soothing. The Penguin is a great way to feel frozen and fresh afterwards. My Sharp blade looks like it'll last all weekend!

ANOTHER FAT BOY SOTD - Saturday 4/4 Razor: 1958 Rhodium Fat Boy Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless (green) Brush: Strong Set (restored with a Whipped Dog Black Badger knot) Soap: Proraso Green AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush Going "Green" as in the color of tax money! As a CPA I'm advising all TSD members to simplify their taxes this year and use the new IRS XtraEZ-1040 form. It only has 2 lines. The first one says "What did you make?" The second line says "Send it in." (Sorry, we accountant's aren't known for our sense of humor!) Continuing my Fat Boy love until 4/15. I tried something different today (Good Friday) with terrific results IMHO. I've been using a setting of 9 on my initial WTG pass and then dialing back to 4 or 5 to finish (XTG and/or ATG), with mixed results. So today I set the razor on 5 and left it there. The shave was as smooth as silk! I could feel the blade just sliding along. I did 3 passes (XTG, XTG, ATG) and finished with a wonderful shave. Ended up faceturbating all day!
Well no not really. When I got started for the first two weeks I could not stand the CPAP. Now I cannot sleep well without it. So addicted would be the best word, but this is truly a good addiction.
You are not just "Whistling Dixie" with that statement I have been on Cpap/Bi-pap for almost 10yrs now. Best thing that doctor ever did for me was send me for a Sleep Study. People if you are interested in or use C-Pap or Bi-Pap Therapy look here http://www.cpaptalk.com
April 4 (Holy Saturday) Plans Stirling Sheep facial soap Merkur 37C slant bar razor Feather blade (day 1) Kent BK8 silvertip badger brush Arko shave soap & glycerin Two passes Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Nivea Sensitive Post-Shave balm Grace and Peace!
SOTD 4-3-15 Razor: iKon OSS stainless w/bulldog handle (2013) (1st time with razor) Blade: Astra SP (new) Soap: Pedal Pushers Fancies "Speakeasy" (2nd time using) Bowl: Steel Brush: VDH Preshave was just face wash with warm water and post shave was rinse with warm water then some cold water splashes and pat dry! Shave was good but not quite a DFS. I didn't feel any irritation but I did get one weepers (maybe from too much pressure and going to fast, I think) that didn't last long. Razor: First time using this iKon OSS stainless version (2013) with the bulldog handle. I did three passes, the first using the open comb and the last two using the closed comb. Little touch up needed but not much. I am not sure where I would place this razor at this point in time as far as aggression goes as I need more time. It did have some to it though! Blade: One of my favs so have used before and like them alot! Soap: This is the second time using this soap and I like it. The scent is not over powering and it lathers great and gives very good protection for each pass! It also seems to have some post shave qualities that seem to feel pretty good on the face. Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out! Thx.
I currently have two synthetic brushes. I have the FS, and a Kent silvertex. they both are extremely soft. once I figured out the water ratio, both synthetics perform very well. I don't think of them as better or worse, the are just different. I do like how fast they dry. it makes them ideal for travel. I like the size of the FS, better than the smaller infinity. thank you, and happy Easter to you also. happy Easter to all of my brothers and sisters here at the shave den. may you all have safe and joyous weekends.
Here's a random post from me... The things I think about. Not to detract from the awesome photos, shave gear, and experiences here within. But.... This thread is always called SoS. Meaning SHOWER or SHAVE(of the day). Let me be the first to thank everyone for all the info and posts relating to their shaves and NOT their shower experience each day. OK, boredom has set in this evening and my face got tore up this morning from my shave. I just put more aftershave balm on to sooth the itch and irritation. I tried a new cream that didn't lather well at all(Every Man Jack) and tried my slim for the first time finally. Set on 5 with a new Gillette SB blade. So now I'm debating giving the slim a second chance tomorrow with a different cream/soap or go back to a known good razor (SS or 34c).
Well first off, seeing the Slim is new to you, you probably should have tried it on 3 instead of 5. With that said, I would try it all again but work on the cream's lather as it sounds like the lather was the problem so I wouldn't fault the razor or blade based on what you are saying! If you cant get the lather built to the right level, then I would switch it out BEFORE continuing with the shave! To me that is one of thee most important factors in achieving a great shave. Right behind technique!
