My wife came home the other day with a "gift" from her girlfriend. As more and more people hear that I'm "collecting" razors they send me things they find. They all mean well, so you have to accept, but sometimes it just doesn't pan out (for example, the Rolls without a handle, strop, leather...). So now I have this razor, still unopened in it's original package (although somebody took the band), along with two separate unopened blade bands. I've heard bad things about the Techmatic, but I still may try it out.
I got some bum ones over the years and so wrote them off, but the one I have now shaves like a dream.
Had one in college in the 60s....the only thing it would cut was your face!.... and gave new depth to the words Razor Burn... the blade would chatter down your face with each stroke........ Got a Schick injector... MAN!! it was Heaven!!
Well, I could always tell my wife's friend that is more valuable as NOS and I don't want to open the package. Then again I would always wonder...

I just threw one of these Techmatic razors in the trash a few weeks back. Finding cartridges or spools for them is damn near impossible and the shave (at least for most people) is atrocious. If you decide to go for it (and by all means do what you feel is right) make sure to have a fresh styptic pencil and an alcohol free aftershave!
I used one, probably in the late 60s or early 70s? It worked fine... of course not as good as my Gillette Bull Dog or GEM DAMASKEENE but it will work... try it or you'll always wonder
