    Barrister & Mann Leviathan
    Parker best badger
    2011 Muhle R41 (Personna Blue)
    Cold water/alum
    Captain's choice sandalwood.

This razor is borderline addicting. Another superb shave!

    Easter Day:

I decided for a change of pace today:

    Musgo Real
    Parker best
    FaTip Piccolo (Gillette 7 o'clock)
    Cold water/alum
    Stirling MITA aftershave.

After nearly a week of using the 2011 R41, the Fatip feels quite mild. Nevertheless, it delivered a fantastic shave today.

    Happy Easter everyone. Enjoy.

    image.jpg Razor: Gillette gold toggle (D1) 1958 (5) (3)
Brush: Jerusalem Olive Wood/WD Silvertip 24/48
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
Soap: Castle Forbes cedarwood & sandalwood cream
    Blade: Feather (1)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black balm, Old Spice Lime original Shulton Cologne Frosted Glass 1960

Happy Easter to all of you on this Holy Day. Special days call for special razors, and to me the toggle is as special as it gets. I believe I'm the only one to have ever shaved with it and It is by far the best shaving razor I have ever used. Two no pressure passes WTG XTG on 5 and one ATG on my neck on 3 with only a slight touchup around the scar on the right side of my neck. Very close, very smooth, no burn shave. The Castle Forbes played a role, as it gives a great slick cushion. Cucumber WH felt good, and after cleanup some JB gel, and Vintage OS Lime. A king of a shave to celebrate the resurrection of the true King. Amen.

Arko April Focus - CJB Kamisori
    April 5, 2015 - Week 2 Day 1
Prep - Hot shower and towel
    Brush - VDH Boar
    Soap - ARKO
    Razor - CJB
    Blade - artist-club-pro-guard-bladessmall.jpg
Post - Cold towel, Alum, Styptic, several bad words and a shake of the head

Week one with the CJB went very well. Only a couple of minor weepers. So, to start week 2, a change of blades. Went from the Kai Captain Titan ProTouch MG to the Feather ProGuard. Yes, there is a difference as you can see:
kai guard vs feather guardsmall.jpg That's the Feather on top, the Kai below. A significant difference in the guard portion.
As for the performance let's just say that the Kai is a very sharp blade. Very sharp.
The Feather exceeds the Kai in that department. The face went very well with no real issues and the feel was great. However, the neck. WTG on the neck was no problem, but the second pass turned into a nightmare. Picked up a series of nicks along the right jaw line from a combination of still struggling with left hand grip for the ATG and the fact the blade just wouldn't give me any leeway even with the guard. Picked up another good nick right up against my goatee on the left side of my chin again due to my left hand being a useless appendage with an incredibly dangerous instrument in it.

Finished DFS from the jawline up, CCS below. Didn't even use the Superspeed for a third pass. Figured I had created enough irritation and the alum proved me right. Very right. Ouch. Decided the appropriate aftershave was cold water.
Hope you all have a great day today! I'll heal up and try it again tomorrow.

Great shave with my sample products. My DIY preshave oil has a mild lavender scent and the viscosity seemed just right to rub into my beard right out of the shower. The Marlborough shave soap lather easily and has a nice manly scent described as a lavender woodsy scent. The Royall Rugby cologne was the perfect finish to a late morning relaxing shave. The cologne has an intoxicating scent that I keep catching wiffs of often. This might be the start of a Cologne acquisition disorder....

An absolutely eggscellent shave this Easter morning! I'm posting late and haven't had time to read anyone else's shaves for several weeks now including today so pardon my pun if it's already been worn out previously.
I really enjoy the San Francisco Soap Co's Mandarin bar soap and I really enjoy TOBS Grapefruit shaving cream. Oh yeah, and I really enjoy Fine's L'Orange Noir aftershave. Eggscellent products that deliver eggscellent results.
