Man after my own heart right there. When I shave, I use the Osage Rub, then Aqua Velva, then a more fragrant aftershave.
Jeris/Pinaud/Clubman are all the same company. In NJ there's a huge factory for their stuff that has giant open vats of all their scents brewing. Batman was filmed there, as a matter of fact. Here's Jack Nicholson falling into a big vat of Lilac Vegetal, of course turning him into the Joker.
I use it on my head after every shave and love it, my wife thinks this is counter-productive(like why put hair tonic where you don't have hair!)- but what does she know, I like it a lot.
Really like the OR. Can you mix it with any AS that doesn't have Menthol? Have any of you tried it in balms?
You could try that, but it's not really meant for that. If you want to add menthol to something the best thing is to buy menthol crystals (cheap) and add them to whatever it is you're trying to make mentholated.
lol this is good. I think with the veg u either turn into a beast, or a total fruitcake. it depends on if The Veg chooses you or not
I'm getting ready to try it. Face, chin, forehead, neck, and I'll be good to go to beat the humidity.
My cousin stole my bottle of Osage Rub. Well, okay, I gave it to him. He uses it a couple times a week. I only used it a couple times a year.
Osage Rub is very useful. Works as an aftershave and hair tonic. My wife says the menthol smell dissipates quickly, leaving just a nice clean fragrance. Here's a use that I'll bet no one knew about. Last winter, my wife and I both contracted miserable colds. We poured some Osage Rub into a liquid incense diffuser and placed a Tea Candle under it. In less than 10 minutes, our eyes and nasal passages cleared up, the swelling went down, and our coughing stopped. We kept it going for several days, until the rhinovirus ran its course. This stuff is wonderful...at least as good as Tiger Oil, and not so in-your-face.
I just used it this morning after my shave with my Frozen Tundra soap which is also very, very strongly-mentholated. My face felt frozen for a good two hours.
Maybe if I buy Osage Rub, I'll try it has a hair tonic in the summertime. I'm still working with Clubman's hair-tonic for now(will be for wintertime). But gimme the OS for an after-shave in the summers. I have Mennen for now, but I think when I kill that off, it'll be OS time.
