Why is he smiling? Looks like a terrible shave to me

This shave doesnt look relaxing at all Omg the bloodletting. Why did she not apply more lather? Why is he smiling? He must have felt stupid after watching what she did to his face hahaha

I have seen a few barber shave videos, this one was very unnerving to watch haha

 

Ouch. I wonder how badly her other customers end up if they figured this shave would be the best advert for their business.

 

Man I have no idea, but that shave was horrible. Why did she shave of his beard while he was laying down? she could have just shaved him with clippers sitting up and then layer him down for the shave... I dont know, I would have done a lot of things differently

Once in Paris I had a beautiful young female barber give me a shave and a haircut. The haircut was excellent and the shave was good. Not BBS, but still very acceptable and there was no blood-letting. She used a couple of hot towels, massaged my face with some pre-shave cream, lathered me up with a brush and Palmolive Classic cream and used a Shavette and of course, a new blade. I literally fell asleep while she was shaving me!

 

The way you described it I was expecting some major carnage and scarring. So it didn't look so bad to me. Besides, it is rather relaxing. I had a straight shave done by a barber last december and even though it wasn't a great shave, it still was very relaxing!

I can't speak for anyone else, but she appears quite lovely (and shapely) to me.
I can imagine any number of men who would delve into their wallet in order to have
this woman pay attention to their face for a few minutes.
I can also imagine not many of those same men complaining of some nicks and cuts
suffered at the hand of this fair lady. The poor gent setting in the chair looks to be of
courting/marrying age to me. Come clean now, did you not suffer any tribulations
of the heart or minor cuts/scrapes whilst in the search for the love of your life?

Like so many other things in life, I believe it difficult, if not impossible to work with another
unless you have first walked a mile in his shoes. So as they say, "it ought to be a law" that,
if you are going to shave someone else with a straight razor or shavette,
you should first provide evidence of proficiency at shaving yourself with that same straight razor or shavette.
I'm not trying to discourage anyone here, but after having spent months learning to hone,
and a few more months learning to strop properly, and yet another month or two just getting
to the point of attaining a passable shave for myself I feel somewhat qualified to make that statement.
Fellas, there is much to learning the straight, and a good bit more to learning the shavette.
If you have a barber near you that gives good shaves with the straight or shavette, you should count
yourselves among the very lucky indeed.

Just hopping around through the video, she doesn't seem very relaxed or sure of herself. I think that's part of the problem. I wouldn't have let her shave me, I'm sure he paid quite a bit too.

 

Why would he let someone shave his face who doesn't have to shave their face?

 

Well if you look closely at the beginning of the video the other barber had a huge beard, so she shaved her face as much as her male counterpart.

 

He was a paid model. He's in several other of their videos.
But since we're being detail oriented, the shop says it is a haberdashery. A haberdasher is in fact: 1 British : a dealer in notions. 2 : a dealer in men's clothing and accessories. Unless there were suits for sale that I missed, well …

I like that expression, shapely. She was indeed shapely.

But honestly for a shave, especially when my eyes are closed most of the time, it doesn't matter if it's an ugly fat dude or a beautiful woman, what matters is the shave.

Ugly dude but good shaver or beautiful woman but bad shaver. I pick the dude.

Now, if they are booth equally good at performing a straight/shavette shave I definitely would chose the woman. Hey who wouldn't want to feel a soft touch of a woman rather than a man.

A nick is a nick. But you can see to many, TO MANY nicks on his face. That can't feel good after.

Very similar to a "straight" razor shave I got in Vegas a couple years ago. I bled a bit too and left there pretty scratchy. I think these places are more for pampering than getting a decent shave. Kind of like going to a spa for a facial.
